## The short version

- Sam’s Club prints its installation price: the Premium Tire Installation Package is “$20.00 per tire” for most vehicles, and Sam’s Club says the package is required for it to install tires. It will not mount new tires bought from another store.
- The package lists 9 items, among them lifetime balancing, rotation and flat repair until the tread is down to 2/32 inch, Road Hazard Protection and 4 years of roadside help. All of it lasts only “for as long as they remain an active member of Sam’s Club.”
- Road Hazard Protection is a prorated replacement, not a free tire: Sam’s Club will “only charge you for the tread that you’ve used,” plus the installation package on the new tire. One help article says it lasts 5 years; it is not offered on tires bought in New York after early 2025 or on trailer, specialty and non-DOT tires.
- Members get free flat repair on any passenger or light truck tire, wherever they bought it. Rotation on tires bought elsewhere is paid: $3.88 a wheel once, or $9.98 a wheel for a lifetime package.
- Wear-out and defects are the tire maker’s warranty. Sam’s Club keeps its complete warranty terms at its Tire and Battery Centers, not online, and says “Check with your club” about returning tires.
- Sam’s Club’s pages disagree: “no hidden fees” beside a printed $19.00 TPMS reset charge, road hazard cover of 5 years in one passage and “up to four years” in another, and roadside help called lifetime in the Terms but four years on the package page.

Sam’s Club installs tires for a printed $20 per tire, and that package carries lifetime balancing, rotation and flat repair, a 5-year Road Hazard Protection plan that charges you for the tread you used, and 4 years of roadside assistance, all tied to an active membership. On 7 October 2026 we read Sam’s Club’s own documents: the [Premium Tire Installation Package page](https://help.samsclub.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4173/~/premium-tire-installation-package---sams-club) and its PDF, the long [Tire & Battery Center Services article](https://help.samsclub.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2659/~/sams-club-tire-&-battery-center-services) with its price list, the [returns page](https://help.samsclub.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4072), its answers on tire returns, warranty claims and worn tires, the Club and Plus benefits page, and its Terms and Conditions (last updated September 8, 2026). Where we set Sam’s Club beside Costco, Costco’s terms come from our reading of its pages on 6 October 2026. This site has no commercial relationship with Sam’s Club, Costco or any tire maker.

**Figure: What Sam’s Club’s tire pages promise, by situation**

A two-column table of seven situations at a Sam’s Club Tire & Battery Center: tires bought and installed with the $20 Premium package get lifetime balance, rotation and flat repair to 2/32 inch, 5 years of road hazard cover and 4 years of roadside help; members get free flat repair on any passenger or light truck tire wherever bought; rotation on outside tires costs $3.88 a wheel once or $9.98 a wheel for life; new tires bought elsewhere are not installed; a non-repairable road hazard gets a new tire charged for the tread used plus installation; New York purchases after 2/28/25 and trailer, specialty or non-DOT tires get no road hazard cover; and everything ends if the membership lapses.

Read from Sam’s Club’s Premium Tire Installation Package page and PDF, its Tire & Battery Center Services article and its Terms and Conditions on 7 October 2026. The help page gives the New York date as 3/01/25.

## What the $20 installation package includes

The package page opens with the price, “$20.00 per tire - Most Vehicles,” and then the condition that matters most: the package “provides purchasing members with the following benefits and services for as long as they remain an active member of Sam’s Club.” The help article repeats the figure as “$20 per tire for most cars and light trucks” and calls it a “one-time fee.” For a set of four that is $80, a figure Sam’s Club prints itself.

The page lists 9 benefits and services. Here they are in its order, with the limit each one carries:

**The 9 items in Sam’s Club’s Premium Tire Installation Package (help page, read 7 October 2026)**

| Item | What Sam’s Club says | Limit it prints |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Tire mounting | Mounted “on serviceable wheels” to “the manufacturer’s specifications” | None printed |
| Valve stem | “a new valve stem when mounting your new tire” | “TPMS stems and service packs are sold separately if needed” |
| Lifetime balance | Re-balancing “upon the member’s request” | Until “2/32nds tread remaining” |
| Lifetime rotation | “Upon member’s request” | Until 2/32nds tread remaining |
| Lifetime flat repair | “any repairable puncture on the covered tire at no cost” | Until 2/32nds tread remaining |
| Road Hazard Protection | Expands the maker’s workmanship and materials warranty to road hazards | Not in New York for recent purchases; not on trailer, specialty or non-DOT/NHS tires |
| TPMS reset | Reset “as necessary” on cars with “a properly functioning TPMS system” | Replacement parts “are sold separately” |
| Waste tire disposal | “Only EPA-licensed waste haulers handle our scrap tires” | None printed |
| Emergency roadside assistance | “24-hour toll-free access” | “For four years from the date of purchase”; 11 exclusions |

The roadside service covers “towing, flat tire assistance, fuel delivery service, lock out service, jump start, winching/extraction.” Its 11 exclusions include RVs, fleet and commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles, vandalism, theft and accident-related incidents. The help article adds that roadside help is “Only included in PTIP,” the Premium package.

RVs and dual-rear-wheel trucks get their own package at the same $20 per tire. Its list repeats everything except roadside assistance, which in any case excludes RVs.

Buying online does not skip the package. At checkout you pick the club that will fit the tires and add the Tire Installation Package for each tire, because “it’s required for us to install them.” If they are not in stock there, shipping to the club “typically takes a few business days.”

## The tire-service prices Sam’s Club prints

The Tire & Battery Center article ends its cost section with a price list. We copied its tire lines with the prices as printed; the list is the only place Sam’s Club puts a figure on most of these services.

**Sam’s Club Tire & Battery Center prices, as printed in its help article on 7 October 2026 (13 tire-related lines)**

| Service | Printed price | Charged per |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Premium Tire Installation Package | $20.00 | Wheel |
| Dually/RV Installation Package | $20.00 | Wheel |
| NHS/Non-DOT Tire | $9.50 | Wheel |
| Trailer and Specialty Tire Install | $20.00 | Wheel |
| One-Time Balance & Rotation (OTBR) | $3.88 | Wheel |
| Lifetime Balance & Rotation (LTBR) | $9.98 | Wheel |
| TPMS System Reset | $19.00 | Vehicle |
| TPMS Single Wheel Reset | $5.00 | Wheel |
| Tire Studding | $15.00 | Wheel |
| Seasonal Change Over | $14.00 | Wheel |
| Seasonal Change Over Dual-Rear Wheel | $20.00 | Wheel |
| Lug Nut Service | $1.00 | Lug nut |
| Tire Recycling Service | $2.50 | Tire |

The list does not say when its TPMS and recycling charges apply. Earlier, the same article says “There are no hidden fees,” that the TPMS reset “is done at no extra charge as part of the install,” and of disposal, “You won’t have to worry about a disposal fee.” Our reading is that those lines cover work outside a package installation, but Sam’s Club does not say so. Parts are separate: TPMS stems, service packs and replacement parts are “sold separately,” per the package page. Ask for the total first; our page on [what happens to pressure sensors when tires are changed](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/tpms-light/#tyres-changed) explains why parts can be needed.

The NHS/Non-DOT line is the cheaper exception to the $20 rule. NHS, which Sam’s Club does not define here, is the industry marking for a tire not for highway service; those tires are also excluded from Road Hazard Protection.

## Lifetime balance, rotation and flat repair: what “lifetime” means

Sam’s Club defines the word twice. On the package page each lifetime service runs “for the usable life of the tire (2/32nds tread remaining),” and the whole package runs only while you “remain an active member.” So the services end at whichever comes first: the tread reaching 2/32 inch, or your membership ending. Our guide to [reading tread depth](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/how-long-do-tires-last/#tread-depth) shows where 2/32 inch sits; Sam’s Club’s own advice is the wear bar and the penny test, and it recommends checking “once a month.”

Balancing and rotation are “upon the member’s request,” so nothing happens unless you come in. The help article suggests when: you can come in every 6,000 to 8,000 miles “or whenever you feel it’s needed,” and Sam’s Club will rotate and balance the tires “at no charge.” The article also offers to “adjust your tire pressure and perform tread depth checks anytime.” Our guide to [tire rotation intervals](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/tire-rotation-cost/#interval) covers what the vehicle maker’s schedule usually says, which can be shorter.

Two more services come with new tires. Sam’s Club asks you to have the lug nuts re-checked “after the first 50 miles of driving” and offers “a free re-torque service.” It is also clear about what it does not do: “We do not do wheel alignments,” nor oil changes or brakes. A free rotation does not fix uneven wear from a bad alignment; our page on [reading tire wear for alignment faults](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/wheel-alignment-cost/#reading-wear) shows the patterns to look for.

Sam’s Club says each visit is logged: “every time you have a tire serviced, it’s recorded in our system under your membership.” It also tells you to keep “your purchase/service records.” Do both; a tire maker’s mileage warranty may want proof that an internal log does not give you.

## Road Hazard Protection: what it covers and for how long

Sam’s Club does not call it a warranty. The package page describes Road Hazard Protection as something that “Expands the Manufacturer’s workmanship / materials warranty to include tire failure caused by road hazard incurred in normal driving conditions (e.g., a cut, snag, bruise, impact break or puncture, whether repairable or not).” The next sentences matter as much: “In the event a replacement tire is needed, Tire Installation Package charges are applicable. All other terms and conditions of the workmanship / materials warranty are applicable.”

So the plan borrows its rules from the tire maker’s own warranty, and adds road damage to what that warranty covers. A maker’s own warranty can exclude exactly that kind of damage: the Michelin booklet we read for our Costco page lists “Road hazards (e.g., cuts, snags, bruises, impact damage or punctures)” as not covered. Sam’s Club’s plan is the layer that fills that gap, on its terms.

How long it lasts is printed in only one place. The package page and its PDF give no length. The Tire & Battery Center article says “you automatically get 5 years of road hazard coverage,” and later: “Road Hazard Protection lasts for five years from your purchase date, as long as you remain a member.” Five years is 60 months by our arithmetic. Yet higher up, the same article says new tires come with Road Hazard Protection “and Emergency Roadside Assistance for up to four years.” It reads like a slip that runs the two benefits together, but it is Sam’s Club’s wording; ask at the counter.

The plan comes with the Premium package: Sam’s Club provides it “at no additional cost when your tires are installed with our Premium Tire Installation Package.” The exclusions printed online are short:

- **New York.** “Road Hazard Protection not available in New York for new tire purchases after 3/01/25,” says the help page; the PDF of the same page says “after 2/28/25.” The dates are a day apart. Neither says why.
- **Some tire types.** “Trailer/specialty tires and non-DOT/NHS/ tires are excluded from this benefit,” on the help page only.
- **A lapsed membership.** The plan lasts “as long as you remain a member.”

That is all Sam’s Club publishes. Both versions of the package page end: “Complete terms and conditions of all Sam’s Club warranties and services can be obtained at any Sam’s Club Tire and Battery Center location.” We found no online copy. Whether there is a tread-depth cut-off, and what counts as abuse or an accident, only that document answers. Ask for it before you pay.

**Road Hazard Protection ends with your membership.** Sam’s Club says the plan lasts five years “as long as you remain a member,” and the whole installation package runs only while you “remain an active member.” If you let the membership lapse in year two, the road hazard cover, the free rotations and the roadside help go with it, by Sam’s Club’s own wording.

## What a road hazard replacement costs you, and how to claim

Sam’s Club describes the payout three ways in the same article. When “the tire is not repairable, we will credit you for the unused tread toward a replacement tire.” Later: “we will replace the tire and only charge you for the tread that you’ve used. (This is the pro-rated part.)” And in the flat-repair answer: “you’d get a pro-rated discount on the replacement.” The direction is the same each time. You pay for the share of the tread you have already used; Sam’s Club covers the rest.

By our arithmetic, a tire that fails with a quarter of its tread used would leave you paying for that quarter, with Sam’s Club covering the other three quarters. A quarter of what price, Sam’s Club does not say online, nor how the tread is measured. We have assumed no price and no depth; the share is all the published wording supports.

Then add the installation. The package page says that when a replacement tire is needed, “Tire Installation Package charges are applicable.” At the printed price that is $20.00 for the new tire on most vehicles. The help article, which calls the plan “at no additional cost” and says “most of the replacement cost is covered” on a fairly new tire, does not mention that charge.

**A road hazard claim is a prorated replacement, not a free tire.** You pay for the tread you have used plus the installation package on the new tire. If a repair is possible, Sam’s Club repairs the tire for free instead of replacing it. Ask how the replacement price is set before you agree to the new tire.

To claim, Sam’s Club’s warranty-claim answer says: “Tires purchased at Sams Club or SamsClub.com, visit the club TBC to make a warranty claim.” TBC is the Tire & Battery Center, and the list is headed “(Requires active Membership).” Bring the tire and your membership card. Receipts you print from your SamsClub.com purchase history come “but warranty information isn’t included,” so keep the “warranty paperwork” Sam’s Club says it hands over at installation.

The plan says nothing about towing or a rental car. For the first four years the roadside service covers towing, unless the cause is on its exclusion list, which includes accident-related incidents.

## Free flat repair, even on tires bought elsewhere

This is where Sam’s Club goes further than its installation package. Its Terms and Conditions say: “Sam’s Club offers free tire repair as a member benefit regardless of where the tire was purchased. In order for Sam’s Club to provide repair, the tires must meet USTMA (U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association) guidelines for repair.” The help article says “as a member, we’ll fix any tire for free,” even one bought elsewhere, and narrows it to “any passenger or light truck tire on your vehicle.”

Whether a tire can be repaired is the technician’s call, and Sam’s Club prints the rules it works to. Its answer on worn and damaged tires lists 3 conditions: “The tire has not been driven on when flat,” “The damage is only in the tread section of your tire” and “The puncture is less than 1/4 of an inch.” The tire must come off the wheel to be checked from inside, because “Internal damage is not visible when the tire is mounted.” The help article adds two hard stops: sidewall damage, or a puncture “too large or irregular,” cannot be repaired, and a tire worn down until only 2/32 inch of tread is left is neither repaired nor reinstalled, “for safety reasons.”

On plugs, Sam’s Club is direct: “If someone offers you a plug repair, you should refuse.” Its reason is that a plug goes in without the tire coming off the wheel, and “This method is not reliable and can lead to tire failure.” It asks for “a full inspection and patch and fill repair on the inside of the tire.” Run-flat tires have tighter repair limits of their own, covered in our guide to [why shops often refuse to repair run-flats](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/run-flat-tires/#repair).

**Figure: Annotated photograph**

Three numbered callouts over the photograph mark a tread groove, the centre of the tread and the sidewall, with where Sam's Club's lifetime tire services end, its free flat repair for members, and how its Road Hazard Protection treats a sidewall cut.

Sam’s Club’s installation package and Tire & Battery Center pages, read on 7 October 2026, end the lifetime balance, rotation and flat-repair services when tread reaches 2/32 inch (callout 1); its Terms give members free flat repair on tires bought elsewhere (callout 2); and its help article says a sidewall injury is not repaired, with Road Hazard Protection replacing the tire and charging for the tread used (callout 3). The photograph is illustrative.

For tires you bought somewhere else, flat repair and pressure checks are free, and the rest is paid. Sam’s Club offers a One-Time Balance and Rotation at $3.88 a wheel and a Lifetime Balance & Rotation package at $9.98 a wheel, which “covers rotating and balancing those tires for as long as they last (or up to a certain time limit, like 6 years).” By our arithmetic a set of four costs $15.52 for one visit or $39.92 for the lifetime package. The “like 6 years” is Sam’s Club’s own hedge; ask what limit your club applies.

What Sam’s Club will not do is fit them: “We do not mount or install brand-new tires that you purchased from another store or online vendor. Our installation service (and all the perks that come with it) is exclusive to tires purchased through Sam’s Club.”

## Whose warranty covers wear and defects

Not Sam’s Club’s. The help article says: “Every tire we sell is backed by the tire manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials or workmanship,” and promises that “we will assist you in honoring the manufacturer’s warranty (usually this means the tire would be replaced or pro-rated according to the manufacturer’s policy).” Mileage is the maker’s too: “Many of the tires we sell are also backed by the tire manufacturers treadwear warranty aka the mileage warranty. This varies by tire brand and line. Ask your TBC Service Advisor for more information.”

For a maker’s warranty claim, Sam’s Club’s general answer says “a dated sales receipt is usually adequate,” and for tires it sends you to the club’s Tire & Battery Center. None of its pages we read links a maker’s warranty booklet, so the booklet you are handed at installation is the document that sets the mileage terms.

Sam’s Club lists Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone, BFGoodrich, Pirelli, Continental and Firestone among its brands. We read one maker’s booklet, Michelin’s, for our [Costco tires page](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/costco-tires/#maker-warranty), and two of its terms bear on Sam’s Club buyers. Its treadwear warranty requires the tires to be “rotated every 6,000 - 8,000 miles (10,000 -12,000 km), or as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer, whichever rotation period is less,” and says “Failure to rotate the tires as provided herein voids the treadwear warranty.” A claim needs the Mounting and Rotation Service Record “fully completed and signed.” Sam’s Club’s suggested window of 6,000 to 8,000 miles is the same band, but its internal log is not that signed record. Take the booklet to each free rotation, or keep each invoice with the odometer reading.

Michelin also says “Mileage Warranties vary by tire line,” and other makers’ terms differ. You can read them first: under the FTC’s pre-sale availability rule, 16 CFR 702.3, the seller of a consumer product with a written warranty “shall make a text of the warranty readily available for examination by the prospective buyer,” for example by “Furnishing it upon request prior to sale.” Ask for the booklet for the exact tire before you buy.

## Membership, Club versus Plus, booking and returns

Everything above needs a membership. “Sam’s Club is a members-only warehouse club, and an active membership is required to purchase products or services from our Tire & Battery Center,” the help article says; “Both Club-level and Plus-level members are eligible.” Members must be 18 or older, and the fee “covers a 12-month period.”

On 7 October 2026 Sam’s Club’s benefits page priced Club membership at $60 a year and Plus at $120, a difference of $60 by our arithmetic. That page lists no tire perk for either tier. The Plus tire perks appear only in the Tire & Battery Center article:

- **Half-price installation on a set of four.** “Plus members enjoy 50% off our tire installation package when purchasing a set of four tires,” paying “$40 total for the set” instead of $80. For fewer than four tires, “the discount is not 50%,” and Sam’s Club does not say what it is.
- **Earlier service.** Plus members “can come in as early as 8:00 a.m. on weekdays and Saturday,” about two hours before the usual opening.

The Plus perks do not reach every card: “Only Primary and Complimentary cardholders are eligible for the Plus benefits,” and add-on members get club-level cards. Nor does the Plus cash-back reward cover the fitting. Plus members earn 2% Sam’s Cash, up to $750 a year, but the Terms exclude “Services and labor offered by Sam’s Club,” naming “tire installation,” and merchandise “sold or provided on SamsClub.com.” Sam’s Club’s own pitch is that the half-price installation “can help offset the difference in membership cost.” We make no recommendation either way.

If you do not renew, the Terms say you “will not be able to shop at Sam’s Club,” and “a non-member surcharge fee equal to 10% of the total purchase may apply” after expiry. A renewal “initiated within sixty (60) days after your expiration date” runs from the old expiry date. The Terms do not say whether a short gap restores Road Hazard Protection on tires bought before it.

Appointments are optional: “walk-ins are welcome,” the article says, though members with appointments “get priority at their scheduled time.” You book by calling or visiting the club, or by choosing a slot when you order tires online. Hours are “Generally” Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sam’s Club tells you to check your own club’s hours.

Returns are the one area with no tire terms online. The returns page promises “our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee” to a current member, “with a few exceptions,” and puts “Automotive tires and batteries” under “Check with your club.” The answer on returning tires says to “visit your local club and speak with a Tire and Battery Center Technician” about tires you have “purchased, installed, and/or driven on.”

## Sam’s Club and Costco: the printed terms side by side

The two warehouse clubs set out their tire terms differently. This table compares what each prints, not prices, and does not rank them. The Costco column comes from our [reading of Costco’s tire pages](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/costco-tires/#road-hazard-warranty) on 6 October 2026.

**Sam’s Club and Costco tire terms as each prints them (Sam’s Club read 7 October 2026; Costco read 6 October 2026)**

| Term | Sam’s Club | Costco |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Road hazard length | 5 years from purchase, as long as you remain a member | 60 months from purchase or 2/32 inch of tread, whichever comes first |
| What a replacement costs | You are charged for the tread you used; installation package charges apply | Credit of the usable remaining tread times the price you paid, net of discounts |
| Paperwork | An active membership; services are recorded under it | Original purchaser, original receipt and the tire |
| Lifetime services | Balance, rotation and flat repair, to 2/32 inch | Inflation checks, balancing, rotation and flat repairs; “some limits may apply” |
| Flat repair on a tire bought elsewhere | Free for members, any passenger or light truck tire | Not addressed; no services on tires bought by non-members |
| Roadside assistance | 4 years, with the Premium package | Not among the services Costco’s tire pages list |
| Full terms | Available at a Tire and Battery Center | Published online as a Terms and Conditions page |

The same span, 60 months by our arithmetic, ends differently at each club. Costco’s cover also stops at 2/32 inch of tread. Sam’s Club’s published wording sets no tread limit of its own but stops the plan if the membership ends, and it applies “All other terms and conditions” of the maker’s warranty, which may end it sooner. Costco prices its credit on what you paid; Sam’s Club does not say online what price it prorates.

## What Sam’s Club’s pages leave out, and where they disagree

Several things a buyer would want in writing appear on no Sam’s Club page we read: the complete Road Hazard Protection terms; the price a replacement is prorated from, and who measures the tread; whether a tread limit or the maker’s terms end the plan early; when the TPMS reset and recycling charges apply; the Plus discount on fewer than four tires; and any tire return terms. Two older help pages, “Tire Warranty” and “Tire Installation @ Sam’s Club,” now answer “This answer is no longer available.”

Sam’s Club’s documents also disagree with each other in 8 places we recorded:

- **Road hazard length.** 5 years twice in the help article, “up to four years” once in the same article, and no length on the package page or PDF.
- **Lifetime roadside help.** The Terms list “24-Hour Emergency Roadside Assistance” among benefits for “the rest of the tire lifetime”; the package page says four years.
- **Fees.** “There are no hidden fees,” beside a printed $19.00 TPMS reset, a $2.50 recycling charge and parts “sold separately.”
- **The replacement charge.** Installation package charges apply, says the package page; the article calls the plan “at no additional cost.”
- **Repairable or not.** “whether repairable or not” on the package page; “non-repairable damage” in the article.
- **New York.** “after 3/01/25” on the help page, “after 2/28/25” in the PDF.
- **Flat repair scope.** Any tire “regardless of where the tire was purchased” in the Terms; “any passenger or light truck tire” in the article.
- **Plus perks.** Printed in the Tire & Battery Center article, absent from the membership-benefits page.

## Before you buy tires at Sam’s Club

Register the tires. The federal rule, [49 CFR 574.8](https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-V/part-574/section-574.8), gives an independent tire dealer three options: hand you a paper form recording “The entire tire identification number” and the dealer’s name, or register the tires with the maker itself, on paper or electronically, “at no charge to the tire purchaser and within 30 days.” A dealer that registers electronically must say so on the invoice. None of the Sam’s Club pages we read mentions registration, so ask which way your club does it; registration is how a maker reaches you in a recall. Check the build date on the sidewall too: our guide to [reading the tire date code](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/how-long-do-tires-last/#date-code) shows how.

Confirm the size before you order. The door-jamb placard, which our guide to [finding your tire size](https://baronauto1.com/vehicle-history/tire-size-by-vin/#the-placard) treats as the authority, is the check on whatever a tire search suggests.

- **Ask for the complete Road Hazard Protection terms** at the Tire & Battery Center; they are not online.
- **Ask how a road hazard replacement is priced** and who measures the tread.
- **Ask whether your tire and state qualify;** New York purchases and trailer, specialty and non-DOT tires do not.
- **Get the total before the work starts,** including any TPMS parts, service packs or reset charges.
- **Ask for the tire maker’s warranty booklet** and note its mileage figure and rotation rule.
- **Keep the membership active** for as long as you want the package benefits.
- **Rotate every 6,000 to 8,000 miles or sooner** if your vehicle maker says so, and keep each invoice with the odometer reading.
- **Refuse a plug-only repair** anywhere, and have the lug nuts re-checked after the first 50 miles.

## Common questions

### How much does Sam’s Club charge to install tires?

Sam’s Club prints “$20.00 per tire” for its Premium Tire Installation Package on most vehicles, $80 for a set of four; Plus members pay $40 for four. The package is required for installation and includes lifetime balancing, rotation and flat repair, Road Hazard Protection and 4 years of roadside help. TPMS parts and service packs are extra.

### What does the Sam’s Club tire warranty cover?

Defects and wear-out are covered by the tire maker’s warranty, which Sam’s Club says it will help you claim. Its own add-on is Road Hazard Protection, which extends the maker’s warranty to cuts, snags, bruises, impact breaks and punctures, for 5 years from purchase while you remain a member. A claim replaces the tire and charges you for the tread you used, plus installation package charges.

### Does Sam’s Club fix flat tires for free if I bought the tires elsewhere?

Yes, for members. Sam’s Club’s Terms call free tire repair “a member benefit regardless of where the tire was purchased,” and the help article covers “any passenger or light truck tire.” The repair must meet USTMA guidelines; Sam’s Club’s own conditions are damage in the tread only, a puncture under 1/4 inch, and a tire not driven on flat.

### Does Sam’s Club rotate tires for free?

For tires bought and installed there with the package, yes, on request, until the tread is down to 2/32 inch and while your membership is active. Sam’s Club suggests coming in every 6,000 to 8,000 miles. For tires bought elsewhere it charges $3.88 a wheel once or $9.98 a wheel for a lifetime package.

### Do I need a Sam’s Club membership to buy and service tires?

Yes. Sam’s Club says an active membership is required to buy anything or use any service at its Tire & Battery Center, and the package benefits last only while you remain an active member. Club membership was $60 a year and Plus $120 on 7 October 2026.

### Can I return tires to Sam’s Club?

Sam’s Club publishes no tire return terms. Its returns page lists “Automotive tires and batteries” under “Check with your club,” and its answer on tire returns says to speak with a Tire and Battery Center Technician about tires you have bought, had installed or driven on.
