# SpeeDee Oil Change: What’s Included, the Guarantee and Who Owns It

> SpeeDee prints no oil-change price. What its 17-point oil change includes, the Total Trust Guarantee, free top-offs for 3 months or 3,000 miles, and its owner.

## The short version

- SpeeDee prints no oil-change price. Its coupons are a “Discount off regular price,” include “National Brand Engine Oil (up to 5 Quarts),” and leave “Taxes and/or disposal fees extra, where permitted.” Ask for the total first.
- We found no written warranty on SpeeDee’s work with a time or mileage limit. The Total Trust Guarantee promises open bays and upfront quotes; its one stated remedy is “Your next oil change is on us.”
- Free top-offs are promised “for three months or 3,000 miles after any qualifying service”; the oil-change page says fluids are topped off “up to a ½ pint.”
- The “17-point” oil change is described by two lists: 19 items on the oil-change page, 15 lines behind each coupon.
- SpeeDee is franchised by SpeeDee Worldwide, LLC, ultimately owned by MidOcean Partners, with Grease Monkey and Kwik Kar as sister brands. At the end of 2025, 69 of 78 U.S. shops were franchised and 9 were run by an affiliate, its disclosure document says.
- The store card’s “no interest” offer is deferred interest: miss the 6-month payoff on a $199-plus purchase and interest runs from the purchase date at a 29.99% purchase APR for new accounts.

A SpeeDee oil change is a walk-in, full-service oil change with what SpeeDee calls a 17-point inspection, done at shops that are mostly independently owned franchises (78 in the U.S. at the end of 2025). SpeeDee publishes no price and no time-limited warranty on the work, so what matters is the coupon fine print, the guarantee page and your invoice. On 10 October 2026 we read SpeeDee’s pages on the oil change, the Total Trust Guarantee, coupons, financing and fleets, its About, services and maintenance pages, website terms, SMS terms, privacy policy and two store pages; FullSpeed Automotive’s SpeeDee page; and the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) of SpeeDee Worldwide, LLC issued April 7, 2026, as filed in Minnesota. This site has no commercial relationship with SpeeDee, its owners or any oil brand.

Nine situations a SpeeDee customer meets, each answered from SpeeDee’s guarantee, oil-change, coupon, financing, fleet and store pages, or from the April 7, 2026 Franchise Disclosure Document of SpeeDee Worldwide, LLC.

## What a SpeeDee oil change costs, and how prices are shown

No SpeeDee page we read gives a price, a starting price or a range for an oil change, and neither store page lists prices. The pages show coupons instead, each with an amount off and a “Redeem By” date, most of them two weeks out. We leave the amounts out because they expire; the fine print stays. Behind each national oil-change coupon it reads: “Discount off regular price. Not valid with other offers. Charge for additional parts/services, if needed. Valid at participating locations only. No cash value. Taxes and/or disposal fees extra, where permitted.”

That is how a SpeeDee bill is built: a “regular price” the page does not state, minus the coupon, plus oil beyond five quarts, any extra part or service, tax and a disposal fee, none of them priced. Store coupons are narrower still: the Stone Mountain, Georgia ones say “Valid at listed location only,” and the Kenner, Louisiana synthetic coupon is “Only valid on Full Synthetic oil.”

Who sets the regular price? The FDD, written for people buying a franchise, gives the franchisor one pricing power in Item 16: “We reserve the right to establish minimum and maximum resale prices for use with multi-area marketing programs and special price promotions.” Otherwise franchisees are not restricted. Our reading: each shop sets its own regular price, so two SpeeDee shops can quote different totals for the same car. SpeeDee’s maintenance page promises to explain “how much it’ll cost. No surprise charges, ever.”

**Treat any SpeeDee price you see quoted as one shop’s price.** SpeeDee publishes none. Before the work starts, ask for the total for your car: the oil grade, the quarts your engine takes, the filter, any coupon, tax and any disposal fee.

### The one dated figure on spending: what franchisees reported for 2025

The FDD’s Item 19 is the only document with a number on what a visit added up to. It groups 45 franchised shops by 2025 sales and prints an “Average Ticket” for each group, from $114.33 to $155.07, with a “Ticket Range” from $85.60 to $291.01 at its widest. Four limits apply. The figures come from franchisees’ own statements, which “have not been audited or reviewed by an independent certified public accountant.” They cover 45 of 69 franchised shops (65.2%, by our arithmetic) and no affiliate-owned or co-branded ones. “Ticket” is not defined; we read it as the bill per vehicle, add-ons included. And they describe 2025, not a price for any service.

## What the SpeeDee 17-point oil change includes

SpeeDee says “every oil change includes our signature 17-point inspection, designed to catch small issues before they become big problems,” and the service is “walk-in ready. No appointment needed.” The shop will “safely remove and recycle your used oil and remove the old oil filter,” refill, and inspect, and “Certain fluids are checked and topped off up to a ½ pint.” What the 17 points are depends on where you look:

**What SpeeDee’s own pages say an oil change covers (read 10 October 2026)**

| Where it is printed | What it lists | Count |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Oil-change page, “What We Check & Top Off” | Oil levels; transmission, differential, coolant, power steering and washer fluid; battery; brake fluid level; chassis lube; exterior lights; air and cabin filters; wipers; belts and hoses; tire pressure; windshields cleaned; floorboards vacuumed (“featured at specific locations”); free top-offs between oil changes; oil light reset | 19 items |
| “Includes” list behind each national coupon | National-brand oil (up to 5 quarts); new filter; chassis lube; check and top off transmission and differential, coolant, power steering and washer fluid; battery test; brake fluid; filters, wipers, belts and hoses inspected; tire pressure set; windshields cleaned; oil light reset and exterior lights checked | 15 lines |
| Store-page FAQ (Stone Mountain and Kenner) | Topped off during the oil change: power steering, washer and transmission fluid | 3 fluids |
| Services page, “Perks You Don’t Pay For” | Fluid top-offs, tire pressure, multi-point inspection, wiper and battery checks | 5 items |

The oil-change list runs 2 items past the name and the coupon list 2 lines short of it, by our arithmetic; neither is numbered 1 to 17. The FDD adds a view of the shop side: its Exhibit K reproduces only the table of contents of the 311-page Brand Standards Manual, whose “17-Point Oil Change” chapter lists 24 procedure headings, from “Drive Vehicle Into Bay” and “Light Check” to a “Pressure and Leak Check,” a “Double Safety Check” and a “Courtesy Check.”

The inspection checks and tops off; it does not diagnose. A warning light needs its own diagnosis (see [what the check engine light means](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/what-does-check-engine-light-mean/)). A Stone Mountain “Preventive Maintenance” coupon shows what SpeeDee sells as add-ons: oil system cleaner, wipers, bulbs, filters, fluid exchanges (radiator, transmission, differential, transfer case, gear box), fuel system cleaning and engine treatments. The FDD says “SpeeDee Centers must offer brake services.” Our pages on [brake pad replacement cost](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/brake-pad-replacement-cost/) and [how often to change transmission fluid](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/how-often-to-change-transmission-fluid/) help you judge those suggestions.

## Which oil, how much, and how often

The oil-change page rates three oils: full synthetic (“Best”), synthetic blend and high mileage (both “Better”), with high-mileage oil meant for vehicles “over 75,000 miles.” Full synthetic “should be used if your manufacturer requires it.” Conventional oil gets no card, yet the refill step names it (“conventional, high-mileage, synthetic blend, or full synthetic”). The national coupons cover synthetic blend and full synthetic only, and the Kenner coupon is “Not valid on conventional, high mileage or synthetic blend oils.” If your car takes conventional oil, ask whether the shop stocks it and whether any coupon applies.

No page names the oil brand; the coupon says “National Brand Engine Oil.” The FDD says franchisees “must purchase 90% of all products from approved vendors,” that the franchisor has purchase arrangements for “bulk motor oil and certain other petroleum products,” and that a franchise buyer “should not rely on” the availability of “any particular product or brand.” If the brand, grade or specification matters to you, have it written on the invoice.

On intervals, the page says “Most modern vehicles using full synthetic oil can go 5,000 to 7,500 miles between oil changes,” and a synthetic blend “every 3,000 to 5,000 miles,” sooner for older cars, stop-and-go traffic, towing or extreme heat or cold. It adds: “At SpeeDee, we always suggest following manufacturer’s recommendations.” Our page on [how often to change oil](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/how-often-to-change-oil/) explains what sets your interval, including the [severe-service schedule](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/how-often-to-change-oil/#severe). A reminder text from the shop (up to 2 a week under the SMS terms) is not your car’s schedule.

## The Total Trust Guarantee and the courtesy top-offs

SpeeDee calls the Total Trust Guarantee “Our promise to deliver clear, confident car care at every visit.” It is a promise about seeing the work, in four parts: “Open Bay Doors,” “Bay Monitoring” (“Watch your service live from the lobby”), “Know Our Service Team,” and “Transparent Pricing” (“No surprises. Just clear, upfront quotes”). The home page adds “lobby monitors, bay windows, or a photo confirmation.”

The page gives one remedy: “Guarantee not met? Your next oil change is on us.” It does not say what counts as a failure, whom to ask, whether you need the invoice, or whether the free oil change has a grade or quart limit. The FDD uses the word differently: in Item 1, “the SpeeDee guarantee” is a commitment to oil and lubrication service “within a specified period of time,” a period kept in the confidential manual, and in Item 11 the Total Trust Guarantee is one of the “Certification Programs” for franchisees’ staff. Neither is a warranty on parts or workmanship.

**We found no written SpeeDee warranty on the work with a time or mileage limit.** Not on the guarantee, oil-change, coupon or store pages, and not in the FDD. If a problem appears after a visit, go back to the same shop with the invoice before anyone else touches the car, and ask for the shop’s answer in writing.

### Courtesy top-offs: three months or 3,000 miles, up to a ½ pint

The clearest standing benefit is free top-offs, described three ways. The About page and FullSpeed’s SpeeDee page: “Fluid top-offs included for three months or 3,000 miles after any qualifying service.” The oil-change page: “Free top-off service between oil change services,” with fluids “filled up to a ½ pint,” which is 8 fluid ounces, by our arithmetic. The store FAQ: power steering, washer and transmission fluid topped off during the oil change. No page says which services qualify, which fluids are covered between visits, or whether motor oil is one of them, and none prints a “whichever comes first” rule. Read it as ending at three months or at 3,000 miles, and ask your shop which it applies.

A car that keeps needing oil or coolant between changes has a leak or is burning oil. If the same fluid is topped up twice, ask for the reading in writing and have the cause found.

## If something goes wrong after the visit

Without a written warranty, a claim rests on your invoice and the shop’s response. The FDD shows two things about warranties inside the system. Item 19 lists “customer warranties” among franchisees’ operating expenses. And for “Alternative Automotive Services,” services “typically” not performed in at least 85 percent of SpeeDee Centers, franchisees “must state in your work orders and invoices that your customer can only return to your SpeeDee Center to exercise the warranty.” If your invoice carries that line, only the shop that did the work will honor it. The FDD says nothing about warranties on the oil change itself.

For repairs under a service contract, the Kenner store page says its technicians “work with most extended warranty providers to take care of covered repairs.” That is the shop dealing with your contract company, not SpeeDee backing the repair; see [is an extended warranty worth it](https://baronauto1.com/financing/is-an-extended-warranty-worth-it/). Here is how SpeeDee’s printed terms sit beside three other chains’, including its sister brand Grease Monkey. Written terms only, not prices or service:

**Printed warranty and top-off terms (SpeeDee read 10 October 2026; the others from this site’s readings of 9 October 2026)**

| Chain | Written warranty on the oil change | Top-offs between visits |
| --- | --- | --- |
| SpeeDee | None printed with a time or mileage limit; the guarantee’s remedy is a free next oil change | “three months or 3,000 miles after any qualifying service”; “up to a ½ pint” |
| [Grease Monkey](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/grease-monkey/) | 3 months or 3,000 miles, whichever comes first, on services and products on the invoice; claimed at the original center | Motor oil up to 1 quart plus four other fluids; not antifreeze |
| [Jiffy Lube](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/jiffy-lube-oil-change/) | “warranted for 3 months or 3,000 miles of use, whichever comes first” | Within 3,000 miles, “up to 2 quarts per fluid” |
| [Valvoline Instant Oil Change](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/valvoline-oil-change/) | None found on oil-change work | “There may be a fee for top-offs of certain fluids” |

**Figure: Annotated photograph**

Three numbered callouts over the photograph mark the car’s underside, the mechanic’s hand and the shop floor, each with one fact from SpeeDee’s coupons, oil-change page and Total Trust Guarantee.

SpeeDee’s coupons, oil-change page and Total Trust Guarantee, read on 9 October 2026: SpeeDee oil-change coupons include up to 5 quarts; taxes and disposal fees can be extra (callout 1); Courtesy top-offs for 3 months or 3,000 miles after a qualifying service, SpeeDee says (callout 2); No written warranty term is printed; the guarantee’s remedy is a free next oil change (callout 3). The photograph is illustrative.

## Will a SpeeDee oil change affect your car’s factory warranty?

SpeeDee’s maintenance page says it follows “your manufacturer’s maintenance schedule to keep your vehicle in top shape, protect your warranty, and avoid expensive surprises,” using “trusted parts that meet or exceed manufacturer specs.” The services page has a heading, “Owners Manual and Warranty Services,” with nothing under it.

The law is on the side of an independent shop. The FTC’s guidance, as this site recorded it on 9 October 2026: “it’s illegal for a dealer to deny your warranty coverage because you had routine maintenance or repairs done by someone else.” Federal law, 15 U.S.C. 2302(c), bars conditioning a warranty on a branded article or service unless it is provided free. What protects you is proof: the FTC says to “Keep records of repairs and maintenance like oil changes.” See our page on [keeping oil-change records](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/how-often-to-change-oil/#records). Check that the SpeeDee invoice shows the date, mileage, oil grade and specification, quantity and filter. On schedules, SpeeDee’s pages disagree: service cards say “30k, 60k and 90k miles”; the maintenance page says “every 30,000, 60,000, or 100,000 miles, depending on the part or system.” Your owner’s manual is the schedule a carmaker will check.

## SpeeDee coupons and discounts: what stands and what rotates

On 10 October 2026 SpeeDee’s coupons page showed two national oil-change coupons, synthetic blend and full synthetic, each with an amount, a code and a “Redeem By” date. Store pages carry their own: Stone Mountain had coupons for any full-service oil change, preventive maintenance, military, rideshare and seniors; Kenner had ten, including free checks of the A/C, alignment, brakes and warning lights. All were dated. What stays the same:

- **Shop by shop.** Each Stone Mountain coupon was good at five listed locations in Georgia, Illinois and Texas; others say “Valid at listed location only.”
- **Discount groups.** Stone Mountain lists military, Lyft driver, Uber driver and fleets under “Our Discounts”; Kenner lists Lyft driver, military, senior and Uber driver. The seniors coupon was “55+ only.” No standing national percentage is printed.
- **ID.** At Stone Mountain, “ID Required at time of purchase” is printed on the rideshare coupon, not the military one, although the SMS terms say “Some coupons (e.g., for veterans) require provision of proper identification.” Bring ID either way.
- **Texted coupons** “must be presented at time of estimate,” “Only one coupon code per transaction,” and are “Not valid with any other offers, special order parts or warranty work.” Signing up means up to 2 texts a week, and “consent is not required to make any purchase.”

## Paying for it: the SpeeDee credit card, EasyPay and fleet accounts

The financing page offers two products through one application, taken “at select SpeeDee locations.” If you are approved for the SpeeDee credit card, issued through Synchrony, you can spend before the card arrives. If not, “your application will automatically be submitted to EasyPay Finance,” so a declined card application becomes a loan application with a different lender. Ask which one you are signing.

The card’s headline is “No interest if paid in full within 6 months!” The fine print makes it deferred interest: “On purchase of $199 or more made with your SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service credit card. Interest will be charged to your account from the purchase date if the purchase balance is not paid in full within 6 months.” Then: “For new accounts: Purchase APR is 29.99%; Minimum interest Charge is $2.” Those are standing card terms as printed on the page we read, not a dated offer; the card agreement governs. The page lists no annual fee and acceptance at all U.S. Exxon and Mobil stations.

**Deferred interest is not 0% interest.** If any part of a $199-plus purchase is unpaid when the 6 months end, interest is charged back to the purchase date. Pay at least a sixth of the bill each month; the page warns the minimum payments “may or may not pay off purchase by the end of promotional period.”

EasyPay Finance is the fallback for “Good to no credit.” Approvals “range from $500 up to $5,000, with a minimum amount financed of $350,” with “No down payment required,” a “90-day no interest promotion” and “up to a $40 processing fee.” The loans are “made by Transportation Alliance Bank, Inc., dba TAB Bank.” The page prints no rate for an EasyPay loan after the promotion, so get the rate and the total you will repay in writing first. We started neither application.

### Fleet accounts

The fleet page promises “no appointments needed,” “Quick oil changes in about 15 minutes,” and “digital maintenance records for every vehicle in your fleet,” but no fleet price; fleets apply. Both store pages say “WEX Accepted Here” and “Voyager Fleet Card Accepted” and promise “monthly invoices” for “a fleet of 3 or 3,000.” The FDD binds franchisees: they “must service all national fleet accounts” under SpeeDee’s policies, a national account being “any business entity which, in the course of conducting day-to-day activities, operates vehicles in more than one state.” By our reading, a business with vehicles in two or more states can ask any franchised shop to honor its national terms; a one-state fleet arranges terms with the shop.

## Who owns SpeeDee, and who runs your shop

The website terms open with it: “The franchisor of SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service® is SpeeDee Worldwide, LLC.” The FDD gives the rest. SpeeDee Worldwide, LLC, of Greenwood Village, Colorado, was converted on January 30, 2017 from SpeeDee Worldwide Corporation, incorporated in 2008. Its direct parent, MOP GM Holding, LLC, also owns Grease Monkey International, LLC (GMI), Grease Monkey Franchising, LLC and Kwik Kar Franchising, LLC. Above it sit six more holding companies and, at the top, MidOcean Partners V, L.P., “our ultimate parent company,” described as “a private investment group that owns multiple other business concepts.” GMI “also operates under the name FullSpeed Automotive,” and FullSpeed’s release of November 30, 2020, as this site recorded it, says MidOcean bought FullSpeed “from CenterOak Partners.” Midas International, LLC is a “former parent.”

SpeeDee’s About page dates the first shop to Metairie, Louisiana in 1980 and franchising to 1982; the FDD gives the same year for franchising. Under a management agreement dated September 15, 2017, GMI can carry out certain of the franchisor’s duties to franchisees; it is also the website’s “owner and operator,” owns the privacy policy, and runs the company-owned shops. The franchisor itself runs none: “We do not operate any SpeeDee Centers.”

**SpeeDee-branded U.S. outlets at December 31, 2025, by state (FDD Item 20, Tables 3 and 4)**

| State | Franchised | Company-owned (run by GMI) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| California | 19 | 0 |
| Massachusetts | 11 | 0 |
| North Carolina | 11 | 0 |
| Louisiana | 9 | 0 |
| Texas | 8 | 3 |
| South Carolina | 7 | 0 |
| Rhode Island | 2 | 0 |
| Colorado | 1 | 0 |
| Virginia | 1 | 0 |
| Georgia | 0 | 2 |
| Oklahoma | 0 | 2 |
| Illinois | 0 | 1 |
| Nebraska | 0 | 1 |
| **Total** | **69** | **9** |

That is 78 shops in 13 states, 88.5% franchised, by our arithmetic; California alone has 19, or 24.4%. The system was 78 at the start of 2023 and 78 at the end of 2025. It fell to 68 at the end of 2023, when eight franchised shops left (all five in Georgia stopped operating, two were terminated, one was not renewed) and two company-owned shops closed. In 2024 GMI converted two of its own shops from another brand to SpeeDee, one each in Illinois and Texas.

Which kind of shop are you at? No store page says. The FDD requires each franchisee to “identify yourself as the independent owner of your Center,” so look for that notice at the counter or on the invoice. And where the FDD lists no franchised shop, a SpeeDee is company-owned: by our reading of its tables, the two Georgia shops, including the Stone Mountain store whose page we read, are run by GMI. It matters because a franchisee sets its own regular prices and, with no written warranty, its own response when something goes wrong.

### Midas/SpeeDee shops

The FDD says that “Until January 2017” SpeeDee and Midas sold co-branding franchises “for a Midas/SpeeDee co-branding shop,” a concept “established in 2008.” No new ones are sold, but “we and Midas may enter into franchise agreements for renewals or transfers of co-branded franchisees.” Midas’s FDD, as [our Midas page](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/midas/) recorded it on 9 October 2026, says: “As of December 31, 2025, there were 54 Co-Branding Shops franchised by us.” By our reading they are not among SpeeDee’s 78, and they are left out of its Item 19 figures. One converted to a plain SpeeDee in Louisiana in 2024. At a co-branded shop, ask whose terms apply to the job.

## Terms, texts, disputes and the public record

We found no customer terms for the repair work itself, and we did not see an invoice. Two sets of terms cover the edges.

**The website terms** bind anyone “accessing or using this website.” They say GMI was “engaged by SpeeDee Worldwide, LLC to provide support services,” and that neither company warrants the materials “are accurate, complete, or current,” so a coupon or service list online is not a promise from your shop. Website disputes go to Colorado: the terms are “governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that State or location.”

**The SMS terms** bring an arbitration clause. Joining the texts means “your agreement to resolve any disputes with us through binding, individual-only arbitration,” “determined by arbitration in Denver, Colorado before one arbitrator.” Claims proceed “solely on an individual basis”; “The arbitrator shall have no authority to award punitive damages”; and in court “the parties hereby waive any right to a jury trial.” The terms limit themselves: “This Agreement is limited to the Program and is not intended to modify other Terms and Conditions or Privacy Policy that may govern the relationship between you and Us in other contexts.” Read plainly, the clause covers the texting program, not the repair, and joining is optional. The page still shows an unfilled placeholder: texts come “from BRAND NAME.”

**Your data.** The privacy policy is GMI’s. It lists sharing “To our subsidiaries, affiliates and franchisees” and says “We currently DO NOT sell Personal Information that we have collected.”

### What the public record shows

The April 7, 2026 FDD reports nothing: “No litigation is required to be disclosed in this Item,” and likewise for bankruptcy. A web search on 10 October 2026 found no attorney-general or FTC action naming SpeeDee Worldwide, LLC. The court record we read is old: in [People ex rel. Dept. of Corporations v. SpeeDee Oil Change Systems, Inc.](https://scocal.stanford.edu/opinion/people-ex-rel-dept-corporations-v-speedee-oil-change-systems-inc-31912) (1999) 20 Cal.4th 1135, the California Supreme Court described a case that “began when the Attorney General sued SpeeDee Oil and others on behalf of the Department of Corporations, alleging violations of the Franchise Investment Law.” Franchisees intervened. The opinion decided only whether a law firm had to be disqualified; it does not say how the franchise claims were resolved, and we did not read the trial docket. The FDD names no predecessors, so we cannot say how that company relates to today’s franchisor. Separately, Midas’s FDD discloses a 2018 Napa County judgment, entered by stipulation, over allegations against one franchisee doing business as Midas/SpeeDee; [our Midas page](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/midas/#public-records) sets out what it says.

## Where SpeeDee’s documents disagree, and a checklist for your visit

Beyond the point counts and top-off terms above, four contradictions matter at the counter:

- **How long.** “about 15 minutes” (fleet page) versus “between 15-30 minutes” once the car is in the bay (store FAQ).
- **Appointments.** “no appointment needed” on the national pages; the Kenner store page also offers “Schedule an Appointment”; Stone Mountain does not.
- **How many shops.** “nearly 100 locations nationwide” (About page) versus 78 U.S. outlets at the end of 2025 (FDD) versus 99 store pages in SpeeDee’s location sitemap on 10 October 2026, 21 more than the FDD, by our arithmetic. The sitemap may include co-branded or newer shops: it has a Minnesota store, where the FDD shows only a signed franchise, and no Colorado store, where the FDD counts one.
- **The FDD’s own sums.** A footnote adds 13 international franchisees to 69 domestic ones “for a system-wide total of 23”; 69 plus 13 is 82. Item 19’s Chart II heading says “(41 CENTERS)”; its quartiles hold 45, a gap of 4.

- **Get the total before the work starts.** Oil grade, quarts, filter, coupon, tax and disposal fee, from the shop you are at.

## Common questions

### How much is an oil change at SpeeDee?

SpeeDee does not publish a price. Its coupons are a discount “off regular price,” include national-brand oil up to 5 quarts and a new filter, and leave taxes and disposal fees extra where permitted. The FDD lets the franchisor set prices only for multi-area promotions, so, by our reading, each shop sets its own. Ask for the total for your car before work starts.

### Does SpeeDee have a warranty on oil changes?

We found no written warranty with a time or mileage limit. The Total Trust Guarantee promises open bays, lobby monitoring and upfront quotes, and its only stated remedy is “Your next oil change is on us.” Keep the invoice and take any problem back to the same shop first.

### Does SpeeDee top off fluids for free?

Yes. The About page says top-offs are included “for three months or 3,000 miles after any qualifying service,” and the oil-change page says fluids are topped off “up to a ½ pint.” No page says which services qualify or which fluids are covered between visits, so ask your shop.

### What is included in the SpeeDee 17-point oil change?

The coupon list includes national-brand oil up to 5 quarts, a new filter, chassis lube, top-offs of transmission, differential, coolant, power steering and washer fluid, a battery test, brake fluid, filter, wiper, belt, hose and tire-pressure checks, cleaned windshields and an oil-light reset. The oil-change page’s longer list adds vacuuming at some shops.

### Who owns SpeeDee, and is it the same as Midas/SpeeDee?

SpeeDee is franchised by SpeeDee Worldwide, LLC, part of the FullSpeed Automotive group with Grease Monkey and Kwik Kar; its ultimate parent is MidOcean Partners V, L.P. At the end of 2025, 69 of 78 U.S. shops were franchised and 9 were run by the affiliate GMI. Midas/SpeeDee shops are a co-brand franchised by Midas, whose FDD counted 54 at the end of 2025.

### Do I need an appointment, and how long does it take?

No: the national pages say “no appointment needed,” and store pages say “We welcome walk-ins,” though some stores, such as Kenner, Louisiana, also take appointments. Store pages say “between 15-30 minutes” once the car is in the bay; the fleet page says “about 15 minutes.”
