## The short version

- Global Lending Services (GLS) is a subprime auto lender in Greenville, South Carolina. You do not apply to it directly: a dealer writes your contract and sells it to GLS, which then collects the payments. To log in or pay, use myglsloan.com (you need the 10-digit account number on your statement) or call (866) 464-0269.
- GLS publishes no rates. The only rate figure it posts is a South Carolina maximum rate schedule, issued 29 January 2026, that allows up to 36% APR on secured loans. Its dealer page advertises approvals with a “FICO AS LOW AS 400.”
- Bank-account and debit-card payments in the portal and on the automated phone line are free. MoneyGram and Western Union payments “Fees may apply,” and credit cards are not accepted.
- GLS’s public pages describe no skip-a-payment, extension or deferral program. The FAQ says you “may be eligible” to move your due date, so ask, and get any change in writing.
- On 15 October 2025 GLS announced an agreement to be acquired by Sixth Street; terms were not disclosed. GLS sold loans into 29 securitizations from 2023 to 2026 that are not registered with the SEC, so no prospectus with rates or losses is public.
- In the sources we checked, we found no CFPB or state enforcement action naming GLS. The CFPB database holds 5,187 complaints naming it, 59.1% about credit reporting by our arithmetic. BBB rates it A+ with 569 complaints in 3 years and a 1.15 review average.

Global Lending Services is a licensed lender (NMLS 1089726) that buys car loans from dealers in what its BBB profile calls “the sub-prime market” and services them until they are paid off. On 6 October 2026 we read GLS’s customer pages, [FAQ](https://www.glsauto.com/faqs.html), contact, licensing and privacy pages, its website and portal terms, its South Carolina rate schedules, its 2021 ESG report, the 64 SEC filings of its securitization arm, the October 2025 Sixth Street announcement, four federal court opinions, and its CFPB and BBB counts. We entered no login, payment or application, and this site has no commercial relationship with GLS or any lender.

**Figure: GLS’s website next to its own filings**

A two-column table setting seven lines from Global Lending Services’ website against its own documents: affordable rates versus South Carolina rate schedules that allow up to 36% APR on secured loans of $5,943.84 to $52,186.00; approvals with a FICO as low as 400 and a 65% approval rate, against the 2021 ESG report’s over 70%; 21,400 dealers and $29B originated versus the October 2025 release’s more than 19,000 dealers and over $22 billion; free bank and debit payments versus fees on MoneyGram and Western Union and no credit cards; mail times of 7-10 business days versus the FAQ’s 5-7; no published late fees or extension terms; and 29 securitizations from 2023 to 2026 with no public prospectus.

Read from GLS’s About, Dealers, Customers and FAQ pages, its South Carolina rate schedules, its 2021 ESG report and Form ABS-15G filings, and the 15 October 2025 Sixth Street release, on 6 October 2026. No login or payment was entered.

## How GLS works: a dealer writes the loan, GLS buys it

GLS is an indirect lender. Its 2021 ESG report says “GLS maintains business and contractual relationships with automobile dealers to acquire retail installment sales contracts,” and its BBB profile describes the business the same way: GLS “purchases retail installment sales contracts for vehicles purchased in the sub-prime market.” The dealer sends your application to lenders, GLS’s software answers, and if the deal closes the dealer assigns the contract to GLS. You then pay GLS for the life of the loan.

A 2023 federal court opinion shows the handoff in one real case. A buyer signed a retail installment contract at a franchised Infiniti store on 31 October 2020, and the same day the dealer “assigned the RISC to Global Lending.” The court called it “undisputed that Global Lending is the creditor and lender” for the loan, and noted that “creditors are not debt collectors when they act to collect debts owed to themselves.” So the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act did not reach GLS in that case.

GLS is open about who it serves. “With nearly one-third of all customers not having access to prime credit, getting a loan can be challenging and expensive,” its About page says. Its dealer page advertises “14 Seconds to Decision,” a “65% Approval Rate” and “FICO AS LOW AS 400.” Software makes the call: the ESG report says automated models “determine the approval decision as well as the pricing and terms of the loan,” and that GLS verifies income and employment and, “in most cases,” adds “a customer interview within the loan origination process.” Expect GLS to contact you while the loan is being set up, and make sure what you hear matches what you signed.

Where do the loans come from? The October 2025 release says GLS serves “franchise and independent auto dealerships,” and the ESG report lists “franchise dealers, OEM captives, bank and credit unions, and online auto purchasing platforms.” No GLS document gives the split. Our reviews of [Exeter Finance](https://baronauto1.com/financing/exeter-finance-review/#how-it-works), [Westlake Financial](https://baronauto1.com/financing/westlake-financial-review/#dealer-tiers), [Credit Acceptance](https://baronauto1.com/financing/credit-acceptance-review/#how-it-works) and [American Credit Acceptance](https://baronauto1.com/financing/american-credit-acceptance-review/) read other subprime lenders the same way, and our page on [buy here pay here lots](https://baronauto1.com/financing/buy-here-pay-here/#what-it-is) covers dealers that keep the loan themselves.

## GLS login and payments: myglsloan.com, phone, and what costs money

GLS’s customer portal is myglsloan.com. Its FAQ walks through enrollment: select “Enroll Now,” verify your email, create a password, “Set up four security questions,” enter the emailed security code (which “is very time sensitive”), then link the loan with your name, account number, the last six of the VIN, the account ZIP code and your Social Security number. The account number is “the 10-digit number in the field labeled ‘Account Number’” on your monthly statement. Someone else can pay for you through Guest Pay with your account number, ZIP code and an email address.

**Ways to pay Global Lending Services and what GLS says about cost and timing, read 6 October 2026**

| Method | Cost, per GLS | Timing and notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Portal, one-time or recurring, from a bank account or debit card | Free (“Free Online/Mobile Payments”) | Before 7 p.m. Eastern posts the same day; may take 1-2 business days to show |
| Automatic withdrawal from checking, savings or a debit account | Free | Set up in the portal or by phone |
| Automated phone line, (866) 464-0269 | Free (“processed free of charge”) | Needs the 10-digit account number and billing ZIP code; runs around the clock |
| Phone payment with an agent | No fee stated | Accepts checking, savings, prepaid and debit cards |
| Mail (check, cashier’s check or money order) | None stated | Customers page: allow 7-10 business days; FAQ: allow 5-7. Do not mail cash |
| MoneyGram or Western Union | “Fees may apply”; amount not printed | Use the payee details on your statement |
| Credit card | Not accepted | “credit cards are not accepted at this time” |

Two of GLS’s own pages disagree on mail: the Customers page says to allow 7-10 business days, the FAQ 5-7. Use the longer one. GLS also says that if a payment screen shows an error, “do not attempt to make another payment,” and call instead. A payment that bounces “may be submitted again,” and if the second try fails “it may be considered an Insufficient Funds transaction.” GLS prints no returned-payment fee; your contract and state law set it. One option borrowers rarely know about: GLS says to call Customer Service for help to “split up payments into weekly or bi-weekly installments.”

Customer Care is (866) 464-0269, Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern, closed Sunday; the portal and automated phone line run 24x7. GLS’s mailing addresses for payments, overnight payments, insurance papers and disputes all differ, so use the one printed on your statement or given by an agent.

## Does GLS offer skip-a-payment or payment extensions?

Not on any public page we read. GLS’s website and FAQ describe no skip-a-payment, extension or deferral program, and give no eligibility rules, cost or limits for one. Three things come closest. The FAQ says “You may be eligible to request a change to your payment due date depending on the status of your account” and to call. The Customers page offers to split a monthly payment into weekly or bi-weekly pieces. And the 2021 ESG report says GLS aims “to provide payment alternatives that will help customers get back on track” when customers hit financial hardship.

Whatever GLS offers costs interest. Its loans are “standard simple interest loans”: a simple interest loan “accrues interest daily from the day the contract is signed until the day it’s paid off,” and GLS warns that “frequent late payments may lead to a higher total cost of the loan.” Its own example is “($10,000 x 18%) / 365 = $4.93 per day.” Pushing a payment back 30 days on that example adds $147.95 of interest, by our arithmetic, which your next payments must cover before they reduce what you owe.

**Until GLS confirms a change in writing, the old due date stands.** GLS prints no extension policy, so there are no published limits on what an agent can agree to, and no published promise either. Late fees depend, GLS says, on “state guidelines and the terms of your contract,” and its FAQ says it reports to the credit bureaus “in alignment with the terms” of the contract. Ask for the new due date, the extra interest and any effect on GAP or a service contract by email or letter before you skip anything. At Exeter, for comparison, [an extension does not stretch GAP coverage](https://baronauto1.com/financing/exeter-finance-review/#simple-interest); GLS does not say either way.

If the problem is the size of the payment rather than its timing, a refinance with another lender is the other route; our guide to [refinancing and loan-to-value](https://baronauto1.com/financing/refinance-a-car-loan/#loan-to-value) explains why a loan that started underwater is hard to move. If payments have already stopped, read our page on [getting a repossessed car back](https://baronauto1.com/financing/car-repossession/#getting-it-back) before the deadlines in your state pass.

## What GLS charges: no published rates, a 36% ceiling on file

GLS publishes no APR for car buyers. Its software prices each application and the dealer writes the rate into the contract. Its About page speaks of “affordable auto loans at the best rates possible,” and its ESG report says it partners with pension funds, insurers, investors and banks to secure “the best rates for customers based on their individual credit.” Neither gives a number.

The one number GLS posts is a ceiling. Under the form’s own wording, creditors making consumer loans in South Carolina and “intending to charge more than 18%” are “required by law to post a schedule” of their maximum rates, and GLS’s three schedules (for its Greenville office, its Tempe, Arizona office and glsauto.com), issued 29 January 2026 and valid to 31 January 2027, list a maximum APR of 36% fixed on secured loans of $5,943.84 to $52,186.00. The form itself says “Creditors are prohibited only from granting consumer credit at rates higher than those specified” and that a creditor “may be willing to grant you credit rate that are lower.” It is a cap posted for one state, not a rate anyone is quoted, but it is the most GLS says it “intends to charge” on these loans there.

**A hypothetical $20,000 financed over 72 months at GLS’s FAQ example rate and at its South Carolina ceiling (our arithmetic, not GLS offers)**

| APR | Monthly payment | Total interest | Daily interest at the start |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 18% (the rate in GLS’s own daily-interest example) | $456.16 | $12,844 | $9.86 |
| 36% (the maximum in GLS’s South Carolina rate schedules) | $681.08 | $29,038 | $19.73 |

On the same $20,000 and the same 72 months, the higher rate costs $224.92 more a month and $16,194 more in interest, by our arithmetic. The rate on your contract is the one that counts, and you see it before you sign, so bring a [pre-approval](https://baronauto1.com/financing/car-loan-preapproval/#what-it-is) from a bank or credit union to compare, and read our guide to [how the term changes the rate](https://baronauto1.com/financing/used-car-financing-rates/#term-structure).

Simple interest also works in your favor. GLS says “Any payment made in excess of accrued interest and fees will automatically lower your principal,” which “may allow you to pay off your loan in advance of the scheduled term.” Payments go first to interest accrued since your last payment, then to principal; extra money beyond the monthly installment “first pay outstanding fees and then are applied to the principal.” GLS’s pages do not say whether any contract carries a prepayment charge, so check yours.

## Payoff, title release, insurance and add-ons

For a payoff figure, GLS says the easiest route is the portal: “Select the Request Payoff Tab,” or call. After you pay off, “The certificate of title or lien satisfaction is sent to the authorized party in accordance with state-specific regulations after the payoff has been posted to your account and the account is paid in full.” If you have moved states and need GLS’s documents to re-title the car, the FAQ gives an email address for its titles team. First-time titling and registration are “handled by the selling dealer,” though the FAQ files that answer under the heading “How can I update my personal information?”, copied from another section.

GLS requires “comprehensive and collision coverage with a maximum deductible of $1,000.” If the car is damaged and repairable, GLS’s FAQ treats the insurer’s payment as a “two party check” that GLS must endorse. It does so only after it receives “A copy of the body repair shop invoice for completed work; an estimate is not sufficient,” proof of payment if you paid the shop, and pictures of the repaired car; any overage goes to your principal.

**A total-loss claim does not pause your payments.** GLS’s FAQ says the contract requires “that a customer meets his/her obligations even if a Total Loss occurs or if the vehicle is stolen,” and that GLS “will continue reporting to credit bureaus” under the contract while the claim runs. Keep paying until the insurer and any GAP product have settled the balance. Our page on [how GAP works](https://baronauto1.com/financing/gap-insurance/#how-it-works) explains what it covers.

If you want to cancel a vehicle service contract or GAP coverage bought with the loan, GLS asks you to call and “request to speak with a Total Loss representative prior to doing this.” Before you sign, ask for the payment with and without each add-on; they are financed at the contract rate. Our guide to the [out-the-door price](https://baronauto1.com/buying-guides/out-the-door-price/) shows how to get that figure in writing.

**Figure: Annotated photograph**

Three numbered callouts over the photograph mark a paper on the seat, the steering wheel and the dashboard, with the 36% ceiling in Global Lending Services' South Carolina rate schedules, its example of daily interest, and its insurance deductible limit.

Global Lending Services’ South Carolina maximum rate schedules, read on 6 October 2026, allow up to a 36% APR on secured loans (callout 1); its FAQ says interest accrues daily, with $10,000 at 18% costing $4.93 a day (callout 2), and that borrowers must carry comprehensive and collision cover with deductibles of $1,000 or less (callout 3). The photograph is illustrative.

## What GLS’s SEC filings show, and why there is no prospectus

GLS sells pools of its loans into trusts that issue bonds to investors. Unlike Exeter, whose trusts file public prospectuses (see [our Exeter review](https://baronauto1.com/financing/exeter-finance-review/#rates-and-terms)), GLS’s deals are not registered with the SEC. On EDGAR, its depositor, GLS Auto Receivables LLC (CIK 0001645741), has filed only Form ABS-15G: 64 of them from 19 June 2015 to 30 September 2026, and no prospectus, monthly distribution report or loan-level data. EDGAR’s company list gives no CIK to any “GLS Auto Receivables Issuer Trust” or “GLS Auto Select” trust, and the issuing-entity CIK line on every recent cover page is blank. So the APRs, credit scores, terms and loss rates of GLS’s pools are not public. We did not use rating-agency presale reports, which sit behind logins.

What the filings do show is volume. Since 2023 GLS has run two programs, GLS Auto Receivables Issuer Trust and GLS Auto Select Receivables Trust; GLS does not publicly explain the difference. Each deal comes with a Deloitte & Touche report on a “Statistical Loan File,” which states how many loans were in it.

**GLS securitizations by deal year: number of deals and loans in the accountants’ statistical files, from GLS’s Form ABS-15G filings (2026 to date)**

| Deal year | GLS Auto Receivables Issuer Trust | GLS Auto Select Receivables Trust | All loans in statistical files |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 2023 | 4 deals, 81,860 loans | 2 deals, 21,473 loans | 103,333 |
| 2024 | 4 deals, 126,281 loans | 4 deals, 27,275 loans | 153,556 |
| 2025 | 4 deals, 111,050 loans | 4 deals, 28,156 loans | 139,206 |
| 2026 (to the 2026-4 Select deal) | 3 deals, 116,781 loans | 4 deals, 29,889 loans | 146,670 |

By our arithmetic, the 2023 to 2025 deals’ files held 396,095 loans, and the Issuer Trust program accounted for 79.8% of the 2025 total. The largest single file, for GLS Auto Receivables Issuer Trust 2026-3 (as of 30 June 2026), held 42,461 loans, 2.55 times the 2023-1 file. A statistical file is the loan list a deal is marketed on, not a count of every loan GLS made.

The reports also say what was checked. In the latest one Deloitte “randomly selected 150 automobile loans” and compared 11 characteristics, including the original APR, amount financed, term and FICO score, against the contracts, and found them “in agreement.” In reports filed since September 2025, the FICO check applies only to loans whose “REFINANCEFLAG” reads “FALSE,” so GLS’s recent files also hold refinanced loans, though its website offers no refinance product. The reports state plainly what they did not test: whether loans conformed to underwriting guidelines, the “value of collateral,” or compliance “with federal, state, and local laws.” GLS’s annual repurchase reports for 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 each mark “no activity to report,” meaning no demand to repurchase a loan for a breach of GLS’s representations was reported. J.P. Morgan, Citigroup, BMO, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo and Mizuho are named with GLS as the parties the reports were prepared for.

For a borrower, the trust changes little: you keep paying GLS. One oddity for anyone searching EDGAR: from 2025 the cover pages call the Select deals “GLS Auto Select Receivables Issuer Trust,” while the attached reports call them “GLS Auto Select Receivables Trust.”

## Who owns Global Lending Services: the Sixth Street agreement

On 15 October 2025, in a release datelined Greenville and posted by [Sixth Street](https://sixthstreet.com/investment_announce/global-lending-services-enters-agreement-to-be-acquired-by-sixth-street/), GLS “announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Sixth Street, a global investment firm.” GLS’s chief executive and “long-tenured management team will continue to lead the Company,” and “Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.” Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo advised GLS; JPMorgan advised Sixth Street, which describes itself as having “over $115 billion in assets under management and committed capital.”

Two caveats. First, the release announces an agreement; we found no GLS or Sixth Street document confirming when, or whether, the deal closed, and GLS’s own website does not mention Sixth Street. Second, earlier ownership is not documented in any primary source we found. GLS’s 2021 ESG report says only “OWNERSHIP: Privately held,” and its privacy notice (Rev. Feb 2025, before the agreement) says “Global Lending Services LLC currently has no affiliates.” News reports have named a previous owner, but we could not read them and do not repeat them. A change of owner does not rewrite your contract; keep paying GLS as your statement directs.

GLS’s own size figures do not agree with each other, which is worth knowing when you read its marketing:

**How big GLS says it is, by document (read 6 October 2026)**

| Source | Dealers | Customers | Loans originated | Staff |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 2021 ESG report | 12,500+ partners | 400,000+ (CEO letter: more than 450,000) | $8+ billion | 900+ |
| October 2025 release | More than 19,000 | Over 1 million | Over $22 billion | 980 |
| About page, undated | 21,400 | 1,260,000 lifetime | $29B | More than 1,000 |
| Home page, undated | More than 20,000 | Over a half a million | Not stated | Not stated |

The leadership page adds “over 930” employees and calls GLS a “seven-time winner” of Inc.’s fastest-growing list, while the home and About pages say “nine times.” The footer still reads “© 2022.” GLS says it was founded in 2012; BBB’s profile lists a business start of 6/7/2007 and incorporation on 10/28/2011.

## Licenses, privacy and the fine print

GLS’s licensing page lists NMLS 1089726, a Michigan Regulatory Loan License (RL0024570, effective 28 April 2023), and three South Carolina supervised lender licenses (SL - 1089726 for Greenville, SLB - 1160940 for Tempe and SLW1 - 1089726 for the website), the Greenville certificate signed on 16 June 2023. The footer adds that in Idaho “the company is known as Global Lending Services LLC,” because “GLS is not an authorized trade name” there.

The privacy notice says GLS shares your information for its everyday business, for its own marketing and “For joint marketing with other financial companies,” and you cannot limit any of the three. Its joint marketing partners “include financial service providers, motor vehicle dealers, and insurance companies.” It does not share with affiliates (it has none) or with outside companies to market to you, and for a new customer sharing can start “30 days from the date we sent this notice.”

Three sets of terms govern GLS’s websites, not your loan. The glsauto.com terms say “Use of this Website may be monitored, tracked and recorded” and apply Delaware law; payment-reminder texts stop if you text STOP to 39367. The portal’s Legal Notice waives jury trials and class actions for disputes about the website and applies New York law. The terms for statements in a phone’s mobile wallet (updated 02-20-2024) require “binding non-appearance-based arbitration,” with the matter submitted for decision within 90 days, and bar class actions. Your retail installment contract has its own dispute terms; read its arbitration clause before you sign, and see our guide to [late fees and what binds you](https://baronauto1.com/financing/what-are-dealer-fees/#late-fees).

## Lawsuits and regulators: what the public record shows

The CFPB’s enforcement-action index, filtered for “global lending,” returned “Sorry, there were no results” on 6 October 2026, and a search for “GLS” found none either. Our searches turned up no state attorney-general settlement or regulator consent order naming GLS. That is not a full state-by-state docket search, so treat it as what we found, not a clean bill.

We read four federal court opinions naming GLS, all from govinfo.gov. Each was an individual suit, and none of the four opinions found against GLS.

**Federal court opinions naming Global Lending Services, as each court described the case**

| Court and docket | Date | What the plaintiff claimed | What the court did |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| D. Maryland, [22-cv-01938-LKG](https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/USCOURTS-mdd-8_22-cv-01938/pdf/USCOURTS-mdd-8_22-cv-01938-0.pdf) | 3 August 2023 | Truth in Lending and debt-collection violations over a cash down payment and finance charges | Granted GLS’s motion to dismiss; GLS is “not a ‘debt collector’” under the FDCPA |
| N.D. Texas, 4:23-cv-01101-O-BP | 22 February 2024 | A credit inquiry the plaintiff called “unauthorized” | Magistrate judge recommended dismissal, with leave to amend |
| W.D. Oklahoma, CIV-25-121-D | 16 May 2025 | That an “indorsed draft” sent to GLS paid off the loan | Dismissed with prejudice as “a frivolous, soundly rejected legal theory” |
| N.D. California, 19-cv-06967-SVK | 2 January 2020 | Not described | Order to show cause over an unpaid $400 filing fee |

The Oklahoma case carries a lesson. The borrower had “tendered an indorsed draft” to GLS and argued it discharged the loan; his complaint called GLS’s attempt to repossess the car criminal. The court called the theory frivolous and cited an appeals court that rejected the same idea, that a lender’s refusal of a “bill of exchange” discharges the debt. If you see that advice online, ignore it.

## CFPB complaints and BBB: what 5,187 reports show

The [CFPB’s public database](https://www.consumerfinance.gov/data-research/consumer-complaints/) held 5,187 complaints naming Global Lending Services LLC, received from 19 March 2015 to 23 September 2026, pulled on 6 October 2026. They are unverified reports that consumers submit and the company answers, and their number grows with the size of a lender’s book, so they show what people complain about, not how likely a problem is. The CFPB stopped publishing complaint narratives on 30 September 2026; only counts are used here.

Most are about credit reports: 3,066 (59.1%) fall under the three credit-reporting labels the CFPB has used, led by “Improper use of your report” (1,880) and “Incorrect information on your report” (929). Another 1,362 (26.3%) concern the car loan itself and 707 (13.6%) debt collection. Within the car-loan complaints, repossession is the largest issue (355, or 26.1%), then managing the loan (342, including 170 billing problems, 65 about fees and 56 about add-on products), getting the loan (211), struggling to pay (155, of which 85 were a denied request to lower payments) and the end of the loan (113, including 41 payoff problems and 40 about not receiving the title). GLS closed 4,947 complaints with an explanation and 239 (4.6%) with non-monetary relief; one was in progress.

**Complaints naming Global Lending Services LLC in the CFPB database by year received (pulled 6 October 2026; 2026 is partial)**

| 2026 to 23 September | 1,445 | 399 |

Complaints in 2025 were 2.12 times the 2024 count and 3.37 times the 2023 count, by our arithmetic, while the loans in GLS’s securitization files grew 1.35 times from the 2023 deals to the 2025 deals. Those files are only a rough gauge of lending volume, but the rise in complaints is far steeper.

[BBB](https://www.bbb.org/us/sc/greenville/profile/consumer-finance-companies/global-lending-services-llc-0673-90006028) rates GLS A+ and lists it as accredited since 10/13/2014. It shows 569 complaints in the last 3 years, 201 closed in the last 12 months; 431 of them (75.7%) are typed as billing issues, and 529 are marked answered and 40 resolved. GLS’s 185 customer reviews on BBB average 1.15 out of 5. The letter rating and the review average are separate measures, and here they point in opposite directions. We found no Trustpilot profile for GLS’s auto lending business. We read each page once on 6 October 2026.

## Before you sign a contract that will go to GLS

- **Get a second quote first.** GLS posts no rates and its South Carolina schedules allow up to 36%, so a bank or credit union pre-approval is your only benchmark.
- **Read the APR, term and total of payments.** On a hypothetical $20,000 over 72 months, 36% instead of 18% adds $16,194 of interest, by our arithmetic.
- **Ask for the payment with and without each add-on.** GAP and service contracts are financed at your rate, and GLS asks you to call its Total Loss team before cancelling one.
- **Answer the verification call honestly.** GLS says it verifies income and employment and usually interviews the customer; if anything differs from your contract, say so then.
- **Set up free payments.** Use the portal, automatic withdrawal or the automated phone line from a bank account or debit card; cash networks can charge fees, and credit cards are refused.
- **Pay before 7 p.m. Eastern, and mail early.** Allow 7-10 business days for a mailed check, the longer of GLS’s two estimates.
- **Keep full coverage.** GLS requires comprehensive and collision with deductibles of $1,000 or less, and payments continue during a total-loss claim.
- **Get any hardship arrangement in writing.** GLS publishes no extension policy. Have the car checked with a [pre-purchase inspection](https://baronauto1.com/buying-guides/used-car-pre-purchase-inspection/) before you sign, too.

## Common questions

### Who owns Global Lending Services LLC?

On 15 October 2025 GLS announced a definitive agreement to be acquired by Sixth Street, a global investment firm, with terms not disclosed and the existing management staying on. We found no primary document confirming the closing date. Before that, GLS described itself only as “Privately held.”

### Does Global Lending Services offer skip-a-payment?

GLS’s public pages describe no skip-a-payment or extension program. Its FAQ says you “may be eligible” to change your due date depending on your account’s status, and it can split payments into weekly or bi-weekly amounts. Call (866) 464-0269, and get any arrangement in writing; interest keeps accruing daily.

### How do I log in and pay my GLS loan online?

Go to myglsloan.com and choose “Enroll Now” the first time; you link the loan with your name, 10-digit account number, the last six of the VIN, your ZIP code and Social Security number. Bank and debit payments there are free, and Guest Payment lets someone pay without logging in.

### What is Global Lending Services’ phone number?

Customer Care is (866) 464-0269: Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern. The automated payment line answers 24x7 and is free.

### Is Global Lending Services a legitimate lender?

Yes. GLS is licensed (NMLS 1089726, with Michigan and South Carolina licenses on its site) and buys real dealer contracts. Legitimate is not the same as cheap: it lends to subprime borrowers, posts a 36% rate ceiling in South Carolina, and draws thousands of CFPB complaints, most about credit reporting.

### What credit score does GLS accept?

GLS publishes no minimum. Its dealer page advertises “FICO AS LOW AS 400” and a “65% Approval Rate,” and software sets the approval and price. Our guide to [the credit score you need to buy a car](https://baronauto1.com/financing/credit-score-to-buy-a-car/#no-minimum) explains why lenders rarely publish a floor.
