# We Buy Any Car Review: How the US Offer, Inspection and Pay Work

> We Buy Any Car's US online valuation is not an offer. What its terms say on the 7 Day Offer, the Three Circle Inspection, fees, payment, loans and owners.

## The short version

- In the US, We Buy Any Car is a branch-based car buyer at webuyanycarusa.com, run by CarGroup Holdings, LLC. Its own FAQ says it is “a completely separate legal entity” from the UK company of the same name, with different owners.
- The online number is not an offer. The Terms of Use call it “for information purposes only.” A 7 Day Offer is made only when your VIN or plate pins down the exact trim, and it holds only if, among other things, the odometer reads less than 1,000 miles above what you entered.
- The price is set at a “Three Circle Inspection” of 11 listed checks, including a paint-depth reading on every panel, an OBD-II scan and a CARFAX or AutoCheck report. You can decline at no cost.
- Getting a valuation and an inspection is free. If you sell, it “may charge a documentation fee (e.g. titling)” with no amount printed, and a 2.5% fee applies if you pay negative equity by credit card.
- You are paid at the appointment by corporate check, ACH, wire or Zelle, and any lender is paid directly. The website Terms set Pennsylvania law and courts with no arbitration clause; the purchase agreement you sign is not published.
- Prosus reported owning “our WeBuyAnyCar business in the US” and said the last of its OLX Autos businesses was sold in August 2025, without naming a buyer.

We Buy Any Car is a real US car buyer with 86 branch locations in 12 states, but the figure you get online is an estimate, and the price that counts is the one its staff set after inspecting the car. On 9 October 2026 we read the US company’s [Terms of Use](https://www.webuyanycarusa.com/termsofuse) (last updated April 2024), its privacy policy, 32 answers in its [FAQ](https://www.webuyanycarusa.com/faq) and 14 other pages on its site, five federal court opinions and orders about the company that runs it, three Prosus annual-report extracts and that company’s wholesale website. We entered no car, VIN or ZIP code into its valuation tool, so this page contains no offer amounts, and this site has no commercial relationship with We Buy Any Car or any other buyer.

**Figure: When We Buy Any Car’s 7 Day Offer holds, and when it does not**

A two-column table setting seven situations against what We Buy Any Car’s Terms of Use and FAQ say happens: a standard online valuation is not a binding offer; a 7 Day Offer is made only when the VIN or plate identifies the trim and runs to midnight of the seventh calendar day; the odometer must read less than 1,000 miles above what was entered; the offer is redeemable within 100 miles; and five conditions in the Terms, plus a sixth in the FAQ, make it void.

Read from We Buy Any Car USA’s Terms of Use (last updated April 2024), its FAQ and its offer-calculation page on 9 October 2026. No VIN or ZIP was entered and no offer amount is shown.

## Which We Buy Any Car this is, and who owns it

Search for “we buy any car” in the US and you can land on two different companies. webuyanycar.com is the British business. The American one trades at [webuyanycarusa.com](https://www.webuyanycarusa.com/), and its FAQ is blunt about the difference: “the U.S. business is a completely separate legal entity from the UK business. The two operate under different ownership and management structures.” It places the UK company in “the Constellation Automotive Group” and says UK policies and valuations “do not apply to our customers in the United States.” This page is about the US business.

Its Terms of Use are “a contract between you the Website visitor and CarGroup Holdings LLC, doing business as webuyanycar.com.” CarGroup is a Delaware limited liability company with offices in Springfield, Pennsylvania. The About page traces the brand to a UK family car business it dates to 1951, the UK launch of webuyanycar.com in 2006, the American expansion in 2011 and mobile buying in 2020. The company’s Values page tells the story differently: it dates its “founding father” starting to buy and sell cars to 1964, yet still calls the firm “a family owned business established in 1951.”

That “family owned” line does not match the public record. Prosus’s 2024 summary financial statements said it had exited OLX Autos, “our automobile transaction business,” in several countries, and added: “We continue to explore options for our WeBuyAnyCar business in the US.” Its FY2025 statements booked “impairment losses of US$84m relating to our US operation classified as held for sale.” Its FY2026 annual-report summary, published in June 2026, says: “In August 2025, the last operation of the OLX Autos business was sold.” By our reading, that was the US business, but no document we read names the buyer or says who owns CarGroup Holdings today. (Prosus’s terms allow links only to its home page, so the reports are not linked.)

**We Buy Any Car USA’s public record, as each source printed it (read 9 October 2026)**

| Source | What it showed | What to keep in mind |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Terms of Use | Operated by CarGroup Holdings LLC, a Delaware company based in Springfield, Pennsylvania | The website Terms, last updated April 2024 |
| US FAQ | Separate legal entity from the UK business, with different owners | UK policies, valuations and service “do not apply” in the US |
| Locations page | 86 branch locations in 12 states: DE, FL, GA, MD, MN, NJ, NC, OH, PA, SC, UT, VA | Mobile buyers also cover some areas without branches, such as Denver |
| Prosus reports | US business held for sale by FY2025; last OLX Autos operation sold August 2025 | Buyer not named in what we read |
| Company claims | “450K+ Cars purchased”; “Over 100,000 5-star reviews and BBB A+ accreditation”; “a presence in over 185 areas” | Not checked: BBB blocked our request, and this site does not use Trustpilot |
| Federal courts | A 2015 odometer-fraud suit by CarGroup against a seller; a 2024 overtime class action by its branch staff | Described below from the opinions, as alleged or as decided |
| FTC and state attorneys general | No action naming We Buy Any Car USA or CarGroup Holdings found in a web search | A search result, not a clearance |

The footprint depends on the document. Beside the 86 branches, the About page claims “a presence in over 185 areas,” CarGroup Holdings’ [wholesale site](https://www.cargroupholdings.com/) says “Now Operating in 20 States,” and an overtime settlement class of its branch staff spans 22 states. Outside the branch states it advertises mobile buyers in some metro areas; its Denver page says “your zip code will confirm coverage.”

## The online valuation, and the 7 Day Offer

You describe the car, leave contact details and get a figure by email. The Terms of Use say what it is: “an initial online vehicle valuation that is for information purposes only and is not a binding offer. Only after an in-person inspection of your vehicle and related documentation at an official WBAC location might WBAC, in its sole discretion, make a purchase offer for your vehicle.” The footnote on every page adds that the valuation “may be adjusted at our discretion at any time, including prior to or during our in-branch vehicle inspection,” and that “Additional fees (e.g. titling) may also apply.”

Some cars get something firmer. The company’s page on [how it calculates offers](https://www.webuyanycarusa.com/how-we-calculate-your-car-offer) says that when you give a VIN or plate and it can “positively identify your vehicle’s trim and have sufficient market data for that specific configuration, we may upgrade your valuation to a 7-Day Offer.” The FAQ sets the clock: the offer is “valid until midnight of the seventh calendar day following the day you are presented with the conditional offer in writing.” It is redeemable only “within one hundred (100) miles of the ZIP code provided,” while the offer-calculation page says within 100 miles “of the issuing location.” If you are near the edge of that radius, ask which one applies.

The 7 Day Offer is conditional on everything you entered being “accurate, up-to-date, and complete” and on the odometer reading at inspection “being less than one thousand miles (1,000) higher than disclosed online.” The Terms then list five conditions that make it “null and void”: a replaced odometer or engine; a reported accident; a car not in its factory configuration or with aftermarket modifications; a flooded, theft-recovered, rebuilt, salvage or lemon-branded car; and past use as a taxi, driving-school or police vehicle. The FAQ repeats the list and adds a sixth: a car “not registered to you” or one you lack “a valid and marketable title” to. Even a valid offer can move: if there are “undisclosed items,” the company “may adjust or rescind the conditional 7 Day Offer, at our discretion, at any time.”

An old valuation is stale (“Used car valuations change on a daily basis”), so get a fresh one before you go. The database covers US-market cars “since 1981”; if yours is not listed exactly, the FAQ says to request a custom quote rather than pick the nearest model. Our guide to [how trim affects value](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/how-trim-level-options-affect-trade-in-value/) explains why.

## The Three Circle Inspection at the branch

The appointment is where the price is set. The [inspection page](https://www.webuyanycarusa.com/how-we-buy-any-car-inspection-works) describes a “standardized Three Circle Inspection” that sellers are invited to watch. The FAQ adds: “You should always join the Vehicle Acquisition Specialist for a short test drive of your car.”

**What We Buy Any Car says it checks, circle by circle (inspection page, read 9 October 2026)**

| Circle | Checks listed |
| --- | --- |
| 1. Exterior | Body panels for dents, scratches and rust; tire tread depth and pressure; lights and signals; a paint depth meter reading on all panels |
| 2. Engine and frame | Engine bay for fluid leaks and unusual noise; frame for rust, jack damage and accident indicators; an OBD-II diagnostic scan for active codes |
| 3. Interior and history | Seatbelts, brakes, horn and steering; dashboard warning lights and gauges; infotainment and controls; a CARFAX or Experian AutoCheck report |

Three of those 11 checks catch things a seller may not know about. A paint reading that differs on one panel is, the company says, “a strong indicator that the panel was repainted,” even when the history report shows no repair. The OBD-II scan reads stored codes with no warning light lit (see [what the check engine light means](https://baronauto1.com/car-care/what-does-check-engine-light-mean/)). And the history report can surface an accident you never knew about; our comparison of [CARFAX and AutoCheck](https://baronauto1.com/vehicle-history/carfax-vs-autocheck/) shows how the two differ.

The inspection itself takes “15 to 30 minutes,” the company says, and the whole selling process “usually takes 60 minutes,” longer with a loan or when someone sells for the owner. Walk-ins are allowed, but “you may need to wait for a scheduled appointment to be completed.”

How the number is produced matters too. In an overtime lawsuit filed by branch staff in 2024, the federal judge summarised the employees’ amended complaint this way: staff “input data about the vehicles into a software that generates a purchase offer,” they “do not negotiate with customers beyond presenting the software-generated purchase offer,” and if a customer rejects it, they ask “the pricing department to reassess and potentially generate a new purchase offer.” Those are the employees’ allegations, not findings, in a case about their pay. They fit the company’s own account of pricing from “live market data” plus the inspection: the person at the branch may not be the one who sets the figure.

**Figure: Annotated photograph**

Three numbered callouts over the photograph mark the odometer, the engine warning light and the steering wheel, each with one fact from We Buy Any Car USA’s Terms of Use, inspection page and FAQ.

We Buy Any Car USA’s Terms of Use, Three Circle Inspection page and FAQ, read on 9 October 2026: A 7 Day Offer holds only if the odometer is under 1,000 miles above what you entered (callout 1); An OBD-II scan reads stored fault codes, even with no warning light lit (callout 2); You are invited to join the inspection and a short test drive before the final offer (callout 3). The photograph is illustrative.

## What can lower the offer at the appointment

The inspection page lists the six most common reasons the final offer differs from the online valuation: exterior damage “not captured in self-assessment”; tire condition “below threshold”; a paint depth reading “indicating prior repair”; “Active OBD codes or warning lights”; “Accident history and title issues” from the CARFAX or AutoCheck report; and “Market movement” between your valuation and your appointment. The company says “The adjustment reflects the real cost to recondition the vehicle, not a negotiating tactic.”

The last item is easy to overlook: a car exactly as described can still come in lower if prices moved. Only a 7 Day Offer is a number the company says it will “stand behind at the appointment, provided the vehicle matches what was disclosed.”

**The number that counts is the one after the inspection.** Before you drive over, check the car the way the inspector will: note warning lights, check tread depth, look for rust underneath and be honest about past repairs, because a repainted panel will show on the paint gauge. Bring the email with your valuation or 7 Day Offer, and if the figure drops, ask which of the six listed reasons applies. The company says “You can decline at any point at no cost to you.”

Walking away may take a few minutes. The same 2024 complaint, as the court summarised it, alleged that when a customer decides not to sell, branch staff “are required to contact an Area Manager or Regional Vice President for permission to end the appointment.” That is an allegation, not a published rule, but expect a second call to pricing before you leave. Nothing in the documents we read obliges you to accept a revised figure.

## Fees, and how and when you are paid

Getting a figure costs nothing. The FAQ on fees says “There are no fees for your online valuation*, a 7 Day Offer*, when available, or our on-site inspection if you choose not to sell your car,” and that coming in or booking a home visit “does not obligate you to sell.” Selling can cost something, in three places the company prints:

- **A documentation fee.** “We may charge a documentation fee (e.g. titling) if you sell your car to us.” No amount is printed on any page we read, and its how-it-works FAQ says loan proceeds are figured “less any fees.” Ask for the figure in writing before you accept.
- **A card fee on negative equity.** “There is a 2.5% credit card processing fee” when you owe the lender more than the car is worth and pay the gap by card. By our arithmetic, that is $25 on every $1,000 of negative equity put on a credit card.
- **A fee on electronic transfers.** One FAQ answer lists “Electronic Transfer – funds sent right away (a small fee applies).” The amount is not printed, and the other payment pages list ACH, wire and Zelle without mentioning a fee.

It will not cover towing (“We Buy Any Car® will not pay for or reimburse a tow”), some branches cannot take a tow truck, and it says “we are not a junk car towing business”; see our guide to [selling a junk car](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/sell-a-junk-car/).

**How We Buy Any Car says it pays (FAQ and payment pages, read 9 October 2026)**

| Method | What the company says | Conditions printed |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Corporate check | “drawn on Truist Bank,” to deposit at your bank or cash at a Truist branch | Branch count printed as “almost 3,000,” “nearly 3,000” and “over 3,000”; one page adds “with no holds” |
| ACH or wire | “funds sent right away” | “a small fee applies” (one FAQ answer); amount not printed |
| Zelle | “instant secure transfer to your bank account” | None printed |
| Cash | “we don’t pay physical cash for cars” | Not offered |
| At home (mobile buying) | “we can print you a check right in your driveway or arrange to transfer the money directly to your bank” | Car collected later by a transport partner |

Timing is the company’s strongest promise: “Every seller who accepts their offer is paid the same day,” and “100% of accepted offers result in same-day payment.” Money goes only to the owner (“we can only pay money to the legal owner of the vehicle”). And you leave without the car: there is no “drop-off service,” though on request it offers “a voucher to pay for your ride up to the value of $20.”

## Loans, liens, leases and the documents to bring

A loan does not stop a sale. The company pays your lender directly from the price and pays you any equity. To do that it needs a 10-day payoff: the documents FAQ says “we prefer lenders to fax a 10 day pay-off letter before the appointment. Otherwise, bring the lender’s name, phone number and your account number,” while the [loan page](https://www.webuyanycarusa.com/sell-car-with-loan-or-lien) says to get it in writing and bring it. Do both. Our guide to [getting a payoff quote](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/trading-in-a-financed-car/#payoff-quote) explains why it differs from your balance.

The payoff is not instant. The FAQ says “payment from us will be received by your finance company within 3 to 4 business days, however it may take your finance company anywhere from 5 to 10 business days before crediting the funds to your account,” and the loan page warns that “The lien release itself may take days or weeks depending on your lender.” It says “do not cancel” automatic loan payments before the appointment. Confirm with the lender that the loan shows paid; our guide on [checking for a lien](https://baronauto1.com/vehicle-history/how-to-check-for-a-lien-on-a-car/) shows how.

If you owe more than the offer, you pay the gap at the appointment. The documents disagree on how: one FAQ says “by credit card or certified check,” another “by cashier’s check or credit / debit card payment,” and the [negative-equity page](https://www.webuyanycarusa.com/sell-car-negative-equity) says “a debit card, credit card, or cashier’s check.” A credit card adds the 2.5% fee. Our guide to [negative equity](https://baronauto1.com/financing/negative-equity-car-loan/) covers the other ways out. Leased cars depend on the leasing company: “Some permit third-party dealer purchases; others don’t,” and if yours does not, “the alternative is to exercise your lease buyout option first”; see our [lease buyout guide](https://baronauto1.com/financing/lease-buyout/).

**What We Buy Any Car says to bring (documents FAQ and related answers, read 9 October 2026)**

| Your situation | Documents the company lists |
| --- | --- |
| You own the car outright and every owner on the title is there | Current registration; the title (with an electronic title, “we’ll work with the DMV to obtain a physical title”); valid photo ID for each owner on the title |
| The car is financed or leased | Current registration; the title if you received one; ID for each person on the registration; the lender’s payoff information |
| Your state leaves the title with you during the loan | Bring the title, lien and all. The loan page names 8 such states: Arizona, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wisconsin |
| Selling for a relative or friend | A letter of authorization such as a power of attorney, plus 2 forms of ID from the owner and 2 from you, each including a proof of address “dated within the last three months” |
| No registration card | Usually fine “if you have the title and don’t have a loan”; otherwise bring it |

The registration must normally be in your name, except where you act for a company or an estate, and “Payment and transaction details must match the owner’s name on the vehicle’s title.” The FAQ lists 8 harder cases branches handle, from a divorce to a deceased owner. Our guides to [power of attorney for a car title](https://baronauto1.com/guides/power-of-attorney-car-title/) and [signing a title over](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/car-title-transfer/#signing) cover the paperwork in more detail.

## Selling from home

Since 2020 the company has offered “mobile buying”: a buyer comes to your home or office, runs the same inspection and completes the sale there. It is not guaranteed: “Mobile buying is offered at webuyanycar.com’s discretion and may not be available to all customers, or in all areas.” The [home pickup page](https://www.webuyanycarusa.com/we-come-to-you) calls the company “licensed and insured.”

The difference from a branch sale is what happens to the car afterwards. You are paid on the spot, but the mobile buyer does not drive it away: “We utilize a third-party transport service to collect your vehicle,” and “Pick up will be completed by our transportation partner within 5 business days.” No document we read says who is responsible for the car in those days. Ask before you sign, and keep it insured until it has gone. Then deal with the plates and file your notice of sale; our guide to [release of liability](https://baronauto1.com/guides/release-of-liability/#how-to-file) explains both.

## The terms you agree to, and the contract you sign

Asking for a valuation means agreeing to the website Terms of Use. They are governed by “the laws of the State of Pennsylvania,” and you agree to “the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the federal and state courts located within the State of Pennsylvania.” We found no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver in them, unlike the terms this site recorded for Peddle and Kelley Blue Book (see the comparison below). The company’s liability for use of the website is capped: “IN NO EVENT SHALL WBAC’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES, LOSSES AND CAUSES OF ACTION EXCEED $100.00.” The company can change the Terms “at any time, for any reason,” effective on posting; the version we read was last updated in April 2024.

The Terms govern the website, not the sale. The sale is made under a vehicle purchase agreement you sign at the appointment, and that document is not published online. The only description we found is in a 2015 court opinion, which says a 2014 version had the seller “deliver an executed copy of an odometer disclosure statement,” verify it was correct, and “indemnify Cargroup from any losses, costs, damages, liabilities and expenses arising out of any failure” of the seller’s representations to be correct. Today’s agreement may differ. Read it before signing, and ask whether it contains an arbitration clause.

The privacy policy has two lines worth knowing. It covers the website only, not “information WBAC collects from you offline at its office locations to consummate a purchase transaction.” And “We may share any information we collect, including personally identifiable information, with carefully selected partners who may provide you with offers.” Expect marketing emails, which carry an unsubscribe link.

## What two federal court cases show

Two cases involving CarGroup Holdings appear among the federal opinions on [govinfo.gov](https://www.govinfo.gov/). Neither is a consumer complaint, and both are described only as the opinions describe them.

**The odometer case (Eastern District of Pennsylvania, No. 15-4041).** CarGroup Holdings, “d/b/a WEBUYANYCAR.COM,” sued a seller who had sold it a pickup truck in 2014. According to its complaint, as the court summarised it, CarGroup resold the truck at auction to a dealer, and in 2015 the dealer found a 2012 service report showing “almost 20,000 more miles” than the seller had reported. CarGroup bought the truck back and sued under the Federal Odometer Act, for fraud and for breach of the sales agreement. On 13 November 2015 the court refused to dismiss the federal claim, noting that CarGroup would still have to prove the seller “acted with intent to deceive.” We did not read the final outcome. The point for sellers: the odometer statement you sign is a legal representation, and the company has gone to court over one. Our guide to [odometer records](https://baronauto1.com/vehicle-history/odometer-check-by-vin/) shows how mileage history is checked.

**The overtime case (Eastern District of Pennsylvania, No. 24-1447).** A senior branch manager sued CarGroup Holdings in 2024 on behalf of branch staff, alleging unpaid overtime. The court denied the company’s motion to dismiss on 21 August 2024. After the court declined to approve an earlier version on 25 November 2025, the court preliminarily approved a revised one on 7 January 2026: a $8,500,000 fund for a class of “786 unique employees, covering 22 states.” We found no final approval among the opinions published by 9 October 2026. The case is about pay, not about sellers.

That same 2024 complaint, as the court summarised it, alleged the company “does not engage in retail sale of vehicles” and resold cars through “an exclusive contract with national auction house Adesa.” The FAQ says only that it can “place cars back into the market.” The wholesale site, read on 9 October 2026, says CarGroup Holdings has worked in “the automotive remarketing industry since March 2011” and sells to licensed dealers through “dealer-only auctions and direct online sales,” listing 11 weekly sale lanes, all at Manheim auctions. By our reading, either way the car you sell is most likely resold wholesale to dealers rather than kept or sold to the public; the FAQ confirms the company “does not have vehicles for sale at any our locations.”

## Its terms beside other instant buyers

The other rows are copied unchanged from this site’s earlier readings, with their dates. This compares printed terms, not prices.

**Instant-offer routes on their own published terms**

| Route (date read) | How long the offer lasts | What can change it | Disputes, per the terms read |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| We Buy Any Car USA (9 October 2026) | Online valuation not binding; a 7 Day Offer, when made, runs to midnight of the seventh calendar day | Three Circle Inspection; odometer must be under 1,000 miles above what you entered | Pennsylvania law and courts; no arbitration clause in the website Terms |
| Peddle (5 October 2026) | Up to 7 days to accept; “subject to change until accepted” | 13 conditions checked by the tow driver | New York law; individual JAMS arbitration |
| Wheelzy (6 October 2026) | “Guaranteed offer so the amount you receive will not decrease” | Guaranteed offers are “subject to vehicle inspection” | Florida law; courts in Orange County, Florida; no arbitration clause |
| Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer (2 October 2026; terms 5 October 2026) | “good for 7 days” | “Dealer inspection required” | Arbitration agreement; opt out in writing within 30 days |
| CarMax (2 October 2026) | “valid 7 days” | “Some we’ll ask to verify in-person” | Not recorded |
| Carvana (2 October 2026) | “valid for 7 days” | “a final confirmation at the pickup appointment” | Not recorded |

On paper, the difference that matters most is the 7 Day Offer: without one, there is no figure to hold the company to, and the price is made at the appointment. Our reviews of [Peddle](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/peddle-review/) and [Wheelzy](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/wheelzy-review/), and our guides to the [CarMax appraisal](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/carmax-appraisal/), [KBB’s Instant Cash Offer](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/kbb-instant-cash-offer/), [selling to Carvana](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/how-to-sell-a-car-to-carvana/) and [CarBrain](https://baronauto1.com/trade-your-car/carbrain-review/), read each route against its own terms. ## Before your appointment

- **Use the US site,** webuyanycarusa.com, not the UK one.
- **Enter the VIN or plate and the exact trim.** Only then can you get a 7 Day Offer; if your model is missing, ask for a custom quote instead of picking the nearest one.
- **Describe the condition as the inspector will find it.** Warning lights, tire tread, rust underneath and any repainted panel all feed the final offer.
- **Get a fresh valuation close to the day** and check the odometer against what you entered: a 7 Day Offer needs it under 1,000 miles above your figure.
- **Bring the title, registration and photo ID for every owner,** plus a written 10-day payoff letter and your account number if there is a loan.
- **Ask for the documentation fee in writing** before you accept, and ask whether electronic payment carries a fee.

## Common questions

### Is We Buy Any Car legit in the US?

Yes. The US business is run by CarGroup Holdings, LLC, has bought cars in the US since 2011 and lists 86 branch locations in 12 states. It claims “BBB A+ accreditation,” which we could not check. The risk its own documents point to is a lower price after the inspection, since the online figure is not an offer.

### Does We Buy Any Car charge a fee?

Not to value or inspect your car. If you sell, it “may charge a documentation fee (e.g. titling)” with no amount printed, a 2.5% card fee applies to negative equity paid by credit card, and one FAQ answer says electronic transfers carry “a small fee.”

### Why was my We Buy Any Car offer lower than the online valuation?

Because the valuation is “for information purposes only and is not a binding offer.” The company lists six common reasons for a lower final offer: undisclosed exterior damage, worn tires, a paint reading that suggests a repair, OBD codes or warning lights, history-report findings, and market movement since your valuation.

### How long is a We Buy Any Car offer good for?

A standard online valuation has no guaranteed period; the FAQ says values change daily. A 7 Day Offer is “valid until midnight of the seventh calendar day following the day you are presented with the conditional offer in writing,” at a location within 100 miles, and only if the car matches what you disclosed.

### How does We Buy Any Car pay you?

At the appointment, by corporate check drawn on Truist Bank, ACH, wire or Zelle, never cash. It pays any lender directly; the FAQ says the lender receives the money within 3 to 4 business days.

### Is We Buy Any Car USA the same company as We Buy Any Car UK?

No. The US FAQ says the two share a brand name but the US business “is a completely separate legal entity,” owned by CarGroup Holdings, LLC, while the UK business “is part of the Constellation Automotive Group.” UK policies and valuations do not apply in the US.
