# Window Sticker

> Rebuild what the federal record holds of any vehicle's build, free: model line, engine, transmission, plant and the safety equipment the manufacturer filed — and an honest line on what only the original Monroney sticker carried.

## What this tool does

Enter a 17-character VIN and the page rebuilds the build-sheet facts the manufacturer filed with the federal registry (NHTSA vPIC): trim and series, body and drive, engine, rated power where filed, transmission, GVWR class, the assembly plant, and the safety equipment recorded for the model — from anti-lock brakes to curtain airbags and driver-assist systems.

## Where the line falls

A VIN identifies a vehicle, not a configuration. The options and packages one specific car was ordered with, its colours, its MSRP and its fuel-economy panel lived on the original Monroney sticker, which is a document about one build. No VIN lookup — free or paid — derives those from the number alone, and this page says so rather than guessing.

## Limits worth knowing

A blank field usually means the manufacturer did not file it, which is common on older vehicles. What happened to the vehicle after it left the plant is a records question — title brands, salvage and theft live in vehicle-history records, not in the build data.
